Avalanche-powered Telegram game Koko Snake is now officially live as a free to play web3 title, allowing anyone to jump in and play to earn $AVAX. Here’s everything you need to know to get started.
What Is Koko Snake?
Koko Snake is a 2D mobile game inspired by the classic snake games. Just like its old school counterparts, this blockchain-powered title also has you move around in a 2D area as a snake that grows whenever you consume an item that appears on the map. In this case, your goal is to eat eggs to climb the tournament leaderboard. Try to get the highest score that you can while avoiding hitting yourself or the wall. If you hit yourself or collide with the wall, it’s game over. There are no lives or health bars, so one hit is all it takes to end your run.
You can swipe to move the snake around or use the on-screen controls. In each run you get to collect Kokos, which are in-game ecosystem points that you can redeem for $AVAX tokens. There are multiple different tournaments to participate in, with most requiring you to pay an entry fee in Kokos, with the fees going to the prize pot. So, the more players play, the bigger the reward pool for that tournament. You can also play in a free tournament that doesn't have any entry fee to pay, but does come with a limited number of attempts. The free daily tournament comes with 3 free attempts, while tournaments with entry fees give you unlimited attempts.
Competitions are hosted daily, and the highest-ranked players at the end of the day (midnight UTC) will share a bigger piece of rewards from that day’s prize pool. At the end of your session the game will show you your score but also the number of points needed to qualify for that day’s tournament. The number of points needed to qualify might change based on the number of players participating and the scores they manage to achieve. You can also see your estimated prize, though that will ultimately depend on your final ranking by the end of the day, so try to improve your score while time remains for higher rewards!
This blockchain game is part of the Kokomo Games ecosystem, which also consists of One Million and One Kokos, a real-time PvP tapping game on Telegram that launched last year.

How to Play to Earn in Koko Snake
If you like classic snake gameplay infused with reward-packed tournament leaderboards, then you might want to give this free to play game a try while it’s up and running.
To start your play to earn journey in Koko Snake, you will have to use the link found in the official announcement, which will take you to Telegram to launch the mini-app. Unlike some other games that can be played on the desktop version of the popular messaging app, this game can be played on mobile only.
Once you go through the tutorial, you’re tucked straight in to play. You can head back to the menu afterwards, where you can claim a free welcome NFT by entering your Avalanche C-Chain wallet address. You don’t need to pay for any gas fees. It’s also possible to get a free Kokomo OG NFT by completing the OG NFT Challenge, which requires you to follow the ecosystem’s X account, join their Telegram community, and invite a friend to this snake game.
The game went live on January 15th, and it looks like it will be available for a limited time only as part of its “Snake Sprint” event that runs for 2 weeks until January 29th. You can take part in daily tournaments to win Kokos by being among the best players. If you manage to get 1 million and 1 Kokos, you will be able to redeem your stash for $5 in $AVAX tokens.
While the game is free to play, it does come with an in-game store through which you can purchase a Welcome Pack. Purchasing this pack, which costs $0.75, could help you get the $AVAX prize quicker, as the pack contains 100k Kokos, 2 collectibles, and 5 free challenge entries. You can pay for it using 38 Telegram Stars.
Next to redeeming the $5 $AVAX prize using Kokos, these in-game points are needed if you want to participate in tournaments with entry fees, through which you can compete for bigger Kokos rewards. Aside from the Welcome Pack, you can get more Kokos by inviting friends and completing social tasks.
