Developer Age of Gamers has launched the Closed Alpha Test for their extraction-based action RPG, Realms (also known as Ronin Realms). Anyone owning the required asset can join in at specific timeframes to play to earn rewards such as $AVAX and more.

What’s New in the Realms Closed Alpha Test?

This closed alpha version of Realms introduces a number of new features to enjoy as you help playtest the web3 game’s main Extraction game mode.

According to the official X announcement thread, these new features include fundamental gameplay elements, crafting, PvE matches, a progression system, and the ability to create team lobbies. So, if you want to play with your friends and jump into some fast-paced PvE action, this testing period seems to make it simple to do just that.

In terms of rewards, during an extraction match, you have a chance to loot tokens that include $AVAX and $RON. There is also an opportunity to loot a dancing lion mount, though you can also win this prize by being the top player. If you manage to successfully survive PvE and PvP battles while extracting with your collected goodies, the rewards are yours to keep. 

You play as a strong but rare race called the Kojin. Each match has 9 players strategically battle it out in a fantasy open world while attempting to walk away with plenty of loot. As you play, you will be able to utilize the new crafting system to craft better gear in hopes of being more prepared to survive each match with a decent stash.

If you attend 3 out of 4 playtests scheduled for this testing period, you will be rewarded with a special NFT trait swap for 1 Kojin of your choice, plus a special emote. The first test session took place on May 25, and you still have a chance of participating in the remaining 3. Here’s how!

How to Participate in the Realms Closed Alpha Test

To participate in the Realms Closed Alpha Test, you need to own a Kojin Genesis NFT.

The Kojin Genesis Collection contains 999 unique PFPs from 5 different houses and in 5 different rarities, and owning one brings you 3D customization, significant stat boosts, and the opportunity to actually play to earn on-chain rewards. You can get yourself a Kojin on the Ronin network via the Mavis Market for the floor price of 344.50 $RON at the time of writing. While the full launch of this chain agnostic title will be a free to play experience with support for multiple blockchains, players who want to earn crypto prizes will need to own a Kojin NFT.

The game’s official website went live on May 25, the day testing started, and you can create an account there and connect your wallet in order to gain access and to make sure you qualify for rewards. Their website is also linked in the official thread, where you can also find an invite to their official Discord server. To download Realms, you will have to head on over to the official store page on the Epic Games Store.

This closed alpha test consists of 4 playtests, one of which took place on May 25 at 9 AM EST and lasted at least 4 hours. You can look forward to the next playtest taking place on May 31 at a time that is yet to be determined, but should also last for a minimum of 4 hours. The 3rd playtest is then scheduled for June 7 at an undefined time, and the final test session will go live on June 14 at 9 AM EST, with both playtests planned to run for at least 4 hours.
