RavenQuest is kicking off a massive 4-week leaderboard event today, with 2.8 million $QUEST tokens waiting to be claimed. Called the "Expedition Leaderboard," this new competition follows hot on the heels of last Friday's launch of the Treasures Below expansion and the game's official debut on Epic Games.

The Expedition Leaderboard offers players a fresh chance every week to fight for the top. Each weekly leaderboard will reward 700,000 $QUEST tokens to the best-performing players. The event resets weekly, giving both new and returning players the opportunity to climb, conquer, and earn without falling behind due to early rankings.

The Expeditions Flow

How to Compete in the Expedition Leaderboard

To take part, players will need to dive into the game's new Expeditions, which are roguelike dungeon runs introduced with the Treasures Below expansion. These challenging dungeons reward smart moves, strong builds, and risk-taking. Each completed Expedition earns players Jewels, which count toward their leaderboard score.

The more Jewels you gather, the higher your Fame and leaderboard spot. On top of that, Jewels feed into the Merchant Influence Pool, adding weight to your standing in the wider game economy.

Entry requirements for Expeditions are set at Effective Level 60 for basic runs, and Level 75 for the tougher Legendary Expeditions. Both tiers also require a minimum of 2,000 Renown. Players get one silver entry run per day, with any extra runs needing Munk Snacks, a resource you can find in-game.

How the $QUEST 2.0 ecosystem works

$QUEST 2.0 Powers the Economy

According to the team, RavenQuest's token economy is already seeing record use. Since the launch of $QUEST 2.0, players have burned through more than 500,000 tokens per day. That's the highest usage rate in the game's history. The upgrade added more use cases, better sinks, and a broader system of utility for token holders.

Players can now reroll dungeon modifiers, access better loot, or unlock crafting bonuses using $QUEST. This deeper integration makes the token a more active part of gameplay and progression.

Inside the Expeditions System

The new Expeditions bring a dynamic dungeon-crawling experience with ever-changing paths, scaling challenges, and valuable rewards. Each run starts with picking two Keys, each one linked to an Affliction that buffs enemy strength and raises the stakes. Keys come in five rarities, and their linked Afflictions scale across six tiers of difficulty. Players can reroll their options using $QUEST or gamble on a Ghost Key, which adds a random mix of rarity and effect to the run.

After that, players pick one of three Munk Songs. These are temporary power-ups that shape how your character plays during the Expedition. Effects range from combat boosts to utility enhancements, and they reset after every run. As you progress, you'll unlock more rooms, tougher fights, profession challenges, and environmental hazards like traps or pressure plates.

The final challenge is a boss fight, powered up by the Afflictions you selected. Beat the boss, and you get access to the Treasure Room, where Keys can be traded for chests filled with loot.

Rewards and Gear Progression

Treasure Room rewards include rare crafting items, upgrade materials, exclusive recipes, and new Gemstones. These Gemstones are a major part of the expansion's new gear progression system. Players can slot them into rings, armor, and amulets to boost specific stats.

Gemstones also raise your Luck stat, which affects your chances of finding rare Shiny Keys. These special Keys double the number of Jewels earned from a chest, directly increasing leaderboard scores. With this in mind, players looking to rank high in the Expedition Leaderboard will want to max their Gemstone builds.

Daily Runs and Strategic Planning

Expeditions are built to encourage replayability. Dungeon layouts change with every run, featuring randomized paths, puzzles, boss mechanics, and profession-based mini-games. Players must make choices on the fly: whether to take a side path for more loot, reroll a Key for a better reward, or use limited Expedition Toolboxes to bypass profession challenges.

Toolboxes can be crafted through RavenQuest's expanded crafting system, with each profession unlocking new recipes found only in Expedition chests.

PvP and Leaderboard Ecosystem

Next to Expeditions, RavenQuest's PvP scene has also seen big updates. The new Arena mode allows ranked 2v2 battles with MMR-based matchmaking. These fights play out over three rounds, and rewards are handed out at the end of each season. There's no forced meta or preset builds. Players bring their own class setups and gear into the fight, making skill, planning, and teamwork essential.

While Expeditions focus on PvE and dungeon crawling, the Arena supports those who prefer combat with other players. Both modes now contribute to how players interact with the $QUEST economy and progress through the game's leaderboard systems.

RavenQuest Treasures Below Expansion

Treasures Below Expansion Overview

The Treasures Below expansion launched on August 15, the same day RavenQuest hit the Epic Games Store. This content drop marks the game's first major update since its global debut earlier this year. Apart from Expeditions and Arena PvP, the update brought two new Archetypes: Ballistics and Naturalist.

Ballistics is a ranged damage dealer using pistols, blunderbusses, and grappling gear to control the battlefield. Naturalist is a hybrid class focused on poison and healing, offering both damage-over-time and support capabilities. These additions bring the total number of possible class combos to 120.

The expansion also adds four new weapons, including new Totems for Naturalists, and hosts the limited-time Thaw Festival event. This seasonal questline explores the conflict between winter and spring, and it offers NFT-based rewards for players who take part before August 29.

Epic Games Store Launch

The game's debut on the Epic Games Store opens the door to a much larger audience. RavenQuest is the first web3 MMORPG featured in Epic's First Run program, which means visibility to a pool of more than 295 million users. The free to play title runs on Windows 10 or higher, and all progress made through the native launcher carries over to the Epic version.

Existing players don't need to worry about losing their items or levels. Everything transfers over smoothly. New players can start by creating an account on the official site, then download the game through Epic.

The Road Ahead

With the Expedition Leaderboard launching and $QUEST 2.0 hitting record usage, RavenQuest is entering a new phase. Recently, Tavernlight Games has reaffirmed its stance on player-first rewards, pledging not to sell treasury-held $QUEST, but to burn it or return it to the community.

As the four-week leaderboard event kicks off, players will have a chance to test their new builds, push their limits, and earn their share of the 2.8 million $QUEST prize pool. Each week resets the competition with new rankings and rewards. Stay tuned for more details on the leaderboard system and how the rewards will be allocated across the top players.
