What Is Aurory’s Winter Wonderland Event?

The Winter Wonderland event is a special holiday season that introduces new challenges and content for players to enjoy and complete for an opportunity to earn a variety of rewards from December 17th to December 23rd. 

Everyone who owns a Prime asset (any of the game’s tradable NFTs) and has completed the tutorial can participate by using the portal that allows you to access a “magical update” to the Arctik region. This is where you will find new content and special rewards. Specifically, you will make your way to an event-exclusive frozen landscape called the Winter Wonderland. This location is said to feature 6 species of Nefties.

As you make your way through these new areas, the battles will continuously become more and more challenging. The rewards of course do get better as a result of this scaling difficulty. You can expect to encounter 2 Elites called Chocomint and Dinotusk, as well as the Frozen Sentinel boss, Cybertooth. All 3 of them look just as cute as their names suggest, and they all drop new special rewards called Chest Eggs, as well as Bells and Crystals, which are available exclusively for this event.

What Rewards Can You Earn in Winter Wonderland?

You can look forward to earning a variety of holiday-themed rewards during your challenging journey throughout this event, according to the sneak peek given in the official update post. There will be Neftie-specific rewards, personal milestones, as well as community milestones to attain in order to earn various prizes, while competing for a share of the unique 25k $AURY prize pool.

When it comes to rewards from Nefties that you encounter in the exclusive new environment, you can look forward to earning Crystals and new event-specific currency called Bells from Common Nefties. Elite Nefties drop Chest Eggs, which are basically new types of lootboxes that consist of valuable epic and legendary loot.

If you take down the boss that is the Frozen Sentinel Cybertooth, you could end up getting the following:

  • Gather 10 Chest Eggs (Reward: a festive Avatar hat)
  • Accumulate 10,000 Crystals (Reward: 5 Rare Chest Eggs)
  • Collect 100 Bells (Reward: 5 standard Eggs and 10 rare consumables)
  • Defeat 10 Frozen Sentinel Cybertooths (Reward: exclusive Frozen Sentinel Skin)

As you do your personal milestones, you’re also actually contributing to various community milestones, which are collective goals that event participants can work on achieving to earn rewards together. There are 5 milestones to unlock here as well, and everyone who helps out in achieving them can earn prizes.

  • Collect 5,000 Bells (Reward: 500 Crystals)
  • Gather 25,000 Bells (Reward: Holiday Collectible NFT)
  • Complete 1,000 Lands (Reward: 5 standard Eggs)
  • Defeat 10,000 Frozen Sentinels Cybertooths and collect 100,000 Bells (Reward: 5 rare Chest Eggs)
  • Complete 10,000 Lands and defeat 50,000 Frozen Sentinel Cybertooths (Reward: Holiday Aurorian Background and powerful potions)

How Is the $AURY Pool Distributed in Winter Wonderland?

To win a share of the 25k $AURY prize pool, you will want to collect as many Bells as you can while trying to increase your Collection Score. Doing all this is rewarded with points, and the more points you have over other participants, the more $AURY you’ll earn from the reward pool.

Bells are event currency earned by defeating Nefties in the event’s exclusive location, while your Collection Score is based on the Prime assets that you own. This way, the developers are rewarding both active players and loyal collectors.

Prime assets represent on-chain collectibles of Aurory: Seekers of Tokane. To participate in the Winter Wonderland event, you need to have a Collection Score, which is gained by owning one or multiple of the game’s playable NFTs.
