Third-person extraction shooter Kokodi Arena is now live in Season 1, allowing NFT holders to play and earn for various rewards by downloading the web3 fantasy game through the HyperPlay launcher.
What Is Kokodi Arena: Season 1 About?
Season 1 is a play to airdrop campaign during which you can play to earn Play Points (PP) through gameplay in order to top the rankings and claim a bigger share of prizes.
Players can only earn points by using the Quick Match mode, enjoying skill to earn blockchain gaming where each kill, capture, and victory is rewarded with Play Points. If you end up being among the best players with the highest number of Play Points, then you could be set to win a variety of different prizes, including rare NFT skins, invite codes, $KOKO tokens, and more. Details on what the invite codes are have not yet been revealed.
$KOKO is the upcoming ERC20 token on the Avalanche network, designed to power the game’s economy and provide a 10% discount for using the token to make in-game purchases. The TGE might take place in Q1 2025.
Play Points represent the in-game currency of this extraction royale that are only awarded when using the Quick Match mode. Every kill gets you 100 PP, while capturing a point also gives you 100 PP. If you win the match, your collected points are doubled. According to the whitepaper, Play Points convert to $KOKO tokens at the end of every season, and the points can also be used to buy loot boxes and skins from the game’s web store.
By playing through Quick Match, the game will automatically put you into one of 2 different game modes: Extraction Royale or Team Arena. It seems like the latter is the only mode available for this play to airdrop season.

Extraction Royale blends the extraction shooter and battle royale genre by allowing players to drop into a colorful map and collect loot that can be kept for future matches – so long as you make it out of the match alive. This means that you don’t need to be the last player standing in this mode, as you can simply find a portal and exit out of the map at any time with the loot you’ve snagged. There is a catch though: you won’t know what the portal you find does until you try it. Instead of safely letting you exit the match, a portal could actually just teleport you to another part of the map, or even destroy some of the loot you’ve found. All this depends on the zone level.
Each match in Extraction Royale consists of zones, which are areas that shrink over time while becoming infested with demons and all sorts of monsters, making it difficult to survive the longer you stay in these locations. As a result, the game actually encourages players to work together in handling these unpredictable environments by providing features such as a revive mechanic and a three-wheeled bicycle that can be used to transport your squad. The longer you stay in a zone, the more dangerous it gets, but the more loot there is to possibly find and extract with, so it’s up to you to decide whether you want to risk it or try to play it safe.
Team Arena is a competitive 4v4 game mode inspired by Escape from Tarkov's Arena. In this mode, players have 2 minutes to fight the opposing team while preparing for the point capture phase, where players head to designated areas to capture points. Capturing a point takes 15 seconds, but you’ll have to start over if someone attacks you while you’re taking the point. If both teams fail to capture the point in 40 seconds, the slow death mode will begin, requiring you to use the Fountain at the center of the map to heal up. Win the round by taking out the whole enemy team. To win the match, you need to win 5 rounds.

Regardless of the mode, players can choose to play as one of 4 different races, each of which has their own stats and abilities catering to certain playstyles. As you play, you get to use melee and ranged weapons such as swords, spears, bows, crossbows, and more to allow players to inflict a variety of damage types, adding further strategic depth to skill-based gameplay.

How to Join Season 1 of Kokodi Arena
In order to play in Season 1, you need to be a holder of either a KOKODI, Mask, or Lootbox NFT. All the collection pages are linked here, with KOKODI and Masks available on OpenSea and Blur, while Lootboxes can be bought on the Sphere marketplace. As of writing, the cheapest option seems to be the Lootbox, with the Prime Core Box currently listed for 300 $BEAM (~$7.50).
If you own one of these NFTs, you can head on over to HyperPlay to download the game and start collecting Play Points to earn your share of the $KOKO airdrop alongside other rewards.
The duration of this season does not seem to have been publicly announced. However, there is a specific timeframe that you can play in each day: 18:00 – 20:00 UTC. This likely helps ensure there are enough players present at the same time to properly play to airdrop during this NFT-gated season of Kokodi Arena. According to a Telegram announcement, there is a potential chance that this season opens up for players of tap to earn game Koko Pogz as well.
Kokodi Arena will eventually be free to play and available on the Epic Games Store for Windows PCs.
