Free to play mobile action RPG and strategy hybrid Fableborne is heading into Play to Airdrop Adventures Season 2 this August 19th at 10 AM UTC to give its community another fun period of events to earn Bronze, Gold, and Primordial Essence in while improving the web3 title with new features.
This second season runs for 2 weeks, from August 19th to September 2nd, and consists of 2 new events through which more than 4 million Gold Essence will be distributed to the top 10,000 players on each leaderboard. There are 50 new Campaign levels to progress through, and you can try out 1 new Hero as well as use 2 new defense units to your advantage while facing one new boss.
The new Hero, called Shade, is a very agile character that wields dual crossbows and primarily uses movement abilities to swiftly move around the environment while dealing deadly ranged damage. You can check out this new Hero in action in the gameplay trailer embedded in this tweet, which also reveals the new boss and units as well. The footage also provides a glimpse of a new game mode: Survival. Survival Mode throws you into an arena and challenges you to clear waves of increasingly-challenging enemies, with boss fights happening at certain waves to further spice up the action-packed gameplay.
The 2 new events players can earn Essence in are: Siege Survival and Kingdom Klash PvP. Anyone can play these events for free on Android and iOS by downloading the latest build at the start of the season through the Play Store and App Store respectively.
If you participated in Fableborne Adventures Season 1 and the final competitions of that Play to Airdrop event, then it’s important to know that, according to the Medium announcement, you will need to delete the old game version you still may have installed before downloading this new one to avoid having any issues. Speaking of issues, the developers have noted that there are some known bugs you may come across. Most notable is for the iOS version, where players might see the game switch to portrait mode on its own unexpectedly, requiring you to restart the app to continue playing properly. Hopefully not a common issue. The Raid Result screen might also feature Heroes floating about on some iOS devices, while Orbs on Google Pixel 8a may not be easily visible.
Siege Survival is the first event for this season that uses the new arena wave-based Survival mode to challenge players to try and survive as many waves as they can to get the highest score possible to climb the leaderboard. Your score on the leaderboard is based on the number of waves cleared but also on completion time. The number of waves has not been revealed, but you can choose any Hero that you want and you’ll get to start off with 10 tickets, with 1 ticket regenerating every 35 minutes, so you won’t have to wait too long to try getting a better score.
This competition begins on August 20th at 10 AM UTC and ends on August 26th at 10 AM UTC. The top 10,000 players will share a prize pool of 2,493,250 Gold Essence. Players can claim their Gold Essence rewards starting August 28th, 5 PM UTC, and you have until September 2nd, 5 PM UTC to do so. Based on the official Medium post, you will simply have to open the game during that time period to claim your Gold Essence.
In Kingdom Klash PvP, players will get to choose various units to build their kingdom's defenses while raiding each other’s bases guarded by bosses. Earn stars from raids to climb the leaderboard, with bonus stars awarded for getting multiple wins in a row. Everyone gets 18 tickets at the beginning, with 40 minutes being the amount of time it takes to replenish 1 ticket.
This exciting asynchronous PvP event also has a prize pool of 2,493,250 Gold Essence for the top 10,000 players, and you can begin raiding on August 26th at 11 AM UTC until August 29th, 11 AM UTC. Gold Essence claiming starts August 30th at 5 PM UTC and you have until the end of the season, that is, September 2nd, 5 PM UTC, to get your rewards.
In case you’re not familiar, Essence represents Fableborne’s off-chain points that will be used to gain various rewards yet to be revealed. There are 4 types of Essence: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Primordial Essence.
Bronze Essence is earned by completing social quests on the game’s official website, with daily quests to begin appearing once the season starts. Get as much Bronze Essence as you can to rank in the Top 100,000 Bronze Leaderboard to become eligible for “the Grand Prize.” You can get a multiplier by holding an NFT belonging to one of the communities part of Fableborne Friends. A total of 23 new communities have joined Fableborne Friends this season, with Season 1 Fableborne Friends to continue having their multipliers. Silver Essence was previously possible to earn via Boss Battle Referral Raids, but that won’t be the case for Season 2. It’s not quite currently clear how this type of Essence will be earned now, but the Silver Essence from the first season "still retains its value.”
Gold Essence is rewarded through playing in-game events in Fableborne, such as the ones mentioned earlier, while Primordial Essence will be earnable during the season only for Primordial NFT holders. The more of these NFTs you have, the more Primordial Essence you can get. The Fableborne Primordial NFT collection migrated to Ethereum in June and consists of unique PFPs representing mystical creatures from the blockchain title’s lore. They each have unique traits of varying rarity. Holding this NFT granted you access to exclusive playtests earlier, but I’m not sure if those gated playtests will be happening again. Regardless, if you want to earn Primordial Essence, you’ll need to own a Primordial NFT, which means that becoming a Primordial holder could let you access exclusive prizes. The Ethereum-based collection is up on OpenSea and Magic Eden, with the floor price on the former being 0.25 ETH (~$653), while the lowest price on the latter is 0.2149 ETH (~$561) at the time of writing.
