Tamagotchi and Pokémon-inspired turn-based game Dæmons is officially live for a limited time in open beta, giving everyone an opportunity to play to airdrop the upcoming $DMN token for free.
This latest open beta release of Dæmons introduces a number of new features and rewards for players to test and enjoy across numerous blockchain networks, including the testnets of Polygon, Solana, Base, Soneium, Ancient8, Monad, and Sonic.
For this public testing period of the omnichain title, you can try out new features such as real-time matchmaking, feed & quest mechanics, Evolutions (from Rank 1 to Rank 2), and post-battle UX/UI updates. There are also new characters, including two never revealed before, and perhaps the most important new web3 feature is Account Achievements, through which you can gain Soul Points for the token airdrop.
Next to these new features, this 84-hour test phase also comes with a number of new rewards, making the prize pool consist of 6000 Soul Points for onboarding and 20k+ Soul Points for Beta-specific Achievements. That’s not all however, as 0.4% of the $DMN token supply has been allocated for Individual, Clan, and Content prizes, plus $500 USD equivalent is said to be up for grabs across content, bugs, and spot challenges.
By participating and earning Soul Points, you have a chance of securing an airdrop allocation of the upcoming Dæmons Token ($DMN). There are no details on $DMN at the time of writing, with documentation stating that info is planned to be revealed post-launch. What we do know so far, based on the roadmap, is that the TGE is scheduled for September 2025, while the game’s public launch is planned to take place at some point in July this year. Here is how you can participate in this quick beta test session for a chance at securing your airdrop.
You can play to airdrop in the Dæmons Open Beta from June 10 to June 13, 8 PM UTC by using one of the testnet referral links found in the official X announcement thread. There you will find referral clan links for chains such as Base and Soneium, and the game’s team has their own link at the end of the thread if you’d like to join their Chain Clan instead.
Each partnered chain has their very own character. Choose your chain of choice to be taken to the browser-based title. From there you will have to sign up using your crypto wallet, but before doing so, be sure to click on the “Join our Airdrop Points Program” to be taken to the questing dashboard, where you will also want to connect the same wallet in order to see your score and gain access to social quests and your own referral link, all of which award airdrop points. Connect your wallet to the game and choose your profile username to get started with minting your own pet that is based on your wallet’s on-chain activity. Next to choosing one of the available pets, you can also pick an accessory such as a Unicorn Horn or Compass. Once done, you will be able to mint for a certain fee, so you’ll want to find a testnet faucet for your chain if you don’t have any testnet tokens to complete this onboarding process. With that completed, you should receive 6000 Soul Points, and you can get started with earning more points through gameplay and social tasks.
The game itself is a turn-based title playable on web browsers. Players use 2D pets called Dæmons to engage in 1v1 PvP battles while taking on AI-generated PvE challenges that are actually said to be based on “your blockchain history and content preferences.” You can also converse with your pet through an AI-powered interactive chat system as you raise and train it to become even stronger.
As this is an omnichain game, you can actually play the beta on any of the listed testnets, and the same should be the case for the mainnet version that is likely coming next month. The developers are focused on making a cross-chain title to give the blockchain gaming community the freedom to choose where they’d like to enjoy the browser-based web3 game. This is made possible thanks to the game being powered by LayerZero’s ONFT technology, which makes it possible to enable borderless play across LayerZero-compatible chains, though the team is also launching on non-compatible networks as well to prepare for future integrations while making the game even more accessible to all web3 gamers.
