The new Spotlight Playtest for third-person shooter RPG Xociety is now live from January 18th to January 21st, giving anyone a limited amount of time to play and earn various rewards for free.
This 4-day playtest is playable in specific time slots that amount to a total of 6 hours of playtime per day.
For each day, the servers open up from 1 AM to 4 AM UTC+0, as well as from 1 PM to 4 PM UTC+0, so you have the chance to potentially jump in and play twice a day. According to the announcement, there is server support for Asia (server in Singapore), Europe (server in Germany) North America, and South America, ensuring a smooth blockchain gaming experience for the majority, if not all playtesters.
There’s a wide range of gameplay-focused events through which you can earn a share of the prize pool throughout this playtest. Overall, by participating, you get to compete for the following rewards: 1 million NTx, 1500 XCS (Xociety Corporate Shares), and $5000 (SUI+USDC). These are up for grabs for free to play players across multiple events. Frontier Avatar NFT holders and stakers however have their own exclusive rewards to gain through 3 events. These prizes seem to include 100k NTx, 500 XCS draw tickets, and 10 collaboration NFTs (for the game’s upcoming Partner collections). Let’s go over the non-holder ones first.
A total of 500 $SUI is set to be distributed to the top 3 players who manage to extract the most NTx over the course of 4 days, with the winner getting 250 $SUI, while 2nd place gets 150 $SUI, and 3rd place is rewarded with 100 $SUI tokens. While the official X post mentions USDC is included as well, the details revealed in the Medium announcement only show $SUI as part of this reward pool. As of writing, 500 $SUI is worth around $2500, so it could be that the other half is given in USDC to the top 3 for this leaderboard.
You can earn NTx through gameplay-based events: Purge, NTx Farming Play, and the Daily Check-In event.
The Purge event has a total of 300k NTx allocated as rewards for players who get the highest number of kills. There are a total of 6 Kill Levels rewarding varying amounts of NTx, with the first level achieved by getting over 30 kills. This pool is distributed until depleted, with each level designed to reward a certain limited number of players. So, if there are more players in a certain level than allowed, a raffle will be activated to randomly reward a limited amount of players in that level. For example, if there are 1000 players in Level 1, but the limit is 500, a raffle will be used to randomly award 500 players with 100 NTx.
Aside from kills, players can also get NTx for being active and spending time in-game. That’s thanks to the NTx Farming Play event, which has a total of 600k NTx up for grabs for “various activities,” with 450k used to reward daily in-game farming.
A total of 100k NTx and 1000 XCS is allocated to the Daily Check-In event, rewarding players that log in and play with NTx and XCS draw tickets, with the latter based on in-game achievements.
Holders can earn NTx, XCS draw tickets, and collaboration NFTs through two exclusive leaderboards that rank players based on the number of monster kills, and the number of successful extractions. Stakers who have staked Frontier Avatar NFTs for at least 2 weeks are eligible for a Double Rewards event. This means that stakers earn twice as much NTx from in-game farming than non-stakers during this playtest.
To participate, you will need to download Xociety from web3-native game store HyperPlay. You will need to download the store’s launcher in order to download the game on Windows there for free from the official store page. If you want an early look at action-packed gameplay from what is Sui’s flagship blockchain game while also attempting to earn rewards along the way, then you should try to hop on in at the earliest available time slot before the full playtest is officially over. Next to Sui, this PvPvE RPG is also backed by Krafton, Hashed, and Spartan.
