Following the end of the Season 4 PTR on October 16 and a 1-hour delay, the developers of Seraph have now officially launched the 4th season of their web3 game on October 20, introducing a variety of new features and opportunities to play and earn token rewards.

What Is Seraph?

Seraph: In the Darkness is a free to play action RPG set in a dark fantasy 3D world where players fight through increasingly challenging enemies and bosses in fast-paced isometric gameplay. The game runs on the BNB Chain and features 5 unique classes, each with distinct combat styles and abilities. Players can customize their characters through extensive skill trees, powerful equipment, and diverse passive upgrades.

As you progress, you can collect rare weapons, armor, and treasures to craft unique builds that suit your playstyle. Every choice, from ability combinations to equipment affixes, influences how well a hero can survive the world’s toughest encounters.

The game is available for free on Windows PCs and Android devices via APK download from the official website. It embraces web3 integration by allowing players to play to earn, trade, and own in-game assets on-chain. Although anyone can play for free, players who wish to sell their earned assets on the marketplace need a Stall Permit, which is available in 2 options: the 7-day Stall Permit that costs $10 USDT, and the seasonal version that is priced at $29.99 USDT.

Holders of the $SERAPH token gain access to exclusive features, marketplace privileges, and in-game events, making the token central to both the game’s economy and player progression. With the release of the latest season on live servers comes thus a new opportunity to earn the game’s token through a leaderboard-based reward pool while enjoying various new additions that potentially help bring to the game a better blockchain gaming experience.

What’s New in Seraph Season 4?

Season 4 officially began on October 20 at 04:00 UTC and is set to run until November 24 at 03:00 UTC, bringing with it plenty of content updates to enjoy while competing for rewards. The new season introduces major gameplay systems, new battle modes, and expanded earning opportunities, all centered around the theme of a new era of shared rewards. Some of the new additions include the Abyssal Treasure Hunt, Guild GvG Battles, Void Realm Descent, and Blacksmith Equipment Hunt.

The new Abyssal Treasure Hunt is the highlight of the seasonal update. This gameplay system lets players consume Chaos Stones to join treasure hunts with Kathy, the Treasure Merchant in the Endgame area. Before starting a hunt, players can choose both the treasure tier and the equipment slot they wish to target. Abyssal Treasures come in different tiers, such as Lv.30 and Lv.40, each with its own energy capacity and value. These treasures feature fully unlocked affix slots, but they cannot be dismantled, enhanced, or traded externally. They are limited to the current season and will disappear once the season ends.

Players can also buy optional items during treasure hunts, including Chaos Realm Treasure Chest Keys and a 7-day Stall Permit, the latter being limited to 1 purchase per season.

Abyssal Treasures tie directly to the new shared reward pool. Every Chaos Stone used contributes to a growing pool of rewards, allowing all active participants to benefit collectively from gameplay activity.

This season also introduces Guild vs. Guild gameplay, offering players a new competitive mode that combines tactical map control with teamwork. The GvG event begins in the 2nd week of the season and lasts 2 weeks per round. The first 2 days are reserved for registration, followed by 12 days of intense territory battles. Each player has limited daily action points to move across a grid-based war map, capturing tiles, defending strategic locations, and securing valuable resources for their guild.

Rewards for the Guild system are divided into 2 categories: Guild Rewards and Personal Rewards. Guild Rewards are sent to the guild warehouse and managed by administrators, while Personal Rewards go directly to participating characters.

Void Realm Descent adds a high-level endgame challenge where players can transform regular maps into Descent Maps using special materials. These maps contain random Descent Events that include encounters with Divine Followers, Divine Projections, and Faith Hunters. Defeating these enemies grants powerful Descent Equipment, which includes a special Descent Affix, adding a new layer of build customization. Players can also craft T19 Maps by collecting Divine Heart Fragments dropped from T15 bosses, unlocking even more difficult encounters. The Descent system works closely with new Guild Blessings, which can enhance the effectiveness of Descent related gear.

With Blacksmith Equipment Hunt, players can now spend gold or Chaos Stones at the Blacksmith in search of rare Dark Gold gear, with Chaos Stones significantly upping the chances of earning such loot. There is also a new Potion Crafting system that lets players create advanced recovery potions, combat potions, and special stat-boosting potions using rare materials dropped in the Void Realm.

The new Seraph’s Treasure mode introduces a chance to obtain Lv.50 NFT Treasures by spending Seraph’s Tickets, which can be gained by consuming Feathers used to enter this mode, with large amounts of character experience said to be provided to those who complete the mode.

A new NFT cosmetic, the Demon Wings, is also available from the Fallen Angel Chest as a seasonal exclusive reward.

How to Play and Earn in Seraph Season 4

Season 4 of Seraph’s play and earn systems revolve around a combination of ladder competitions, Chaos Realm participation, and Soul Spar destruction rewards.

The total reward pool for this season's ladder features 800k $SERAPH tokens distributed to the best players. All 5 classes are included, and rewards are paid weekly based on player ranking. Top ranked players can earn between 8000 and 12000 $SERAPH across weekly and seasonal results, with gradually scaled rewards for lower ranks.

In the Chaos Realm dungeons, players can earn the Unformed Feather of Seraph, a special item that determines each player’s share of the weekly reward pool. Every Soul Spar consumed while entering the Chaos Realm adds value to this pool, turning the Chaos Realm into a community-driven earning system.

After each weekly settlement, the Unformed Feather items are burned, and $SERAPH tokens are distributed proportionally based on holdings at that time. Additionally, players receive a direct reward of 5 $SERAPH for completing any Chaos Realm run, regardless of difficulty.

At the end of the season, all Soul Spars will be destroyed within 7 days of server closure, triggering a final season-end token distribution of 100k $SERAPH, divided among players based on the total number of Soul Spars they contributed.

Beyond token rewards, players who activate their accounts during Season 4 will automatically receive free value-added items, including a Game Pass, a seasonal Stall Permit, and an Advanced Leveling Item. Each account can only claim these activation rewards once, and they will be sent directly through the in-game benefits menu.

To play to earn in Seraph Season 4, you can get started for free by downloading the PC version of the game through its official website to begin enjoying a combination of ladder competitions, Chaos Realm participation, and Soul Spar destruction rewards.

While there should be an Android APK version to download on the website, it looks like it is not ready in time for the start of the season per messages in the game’s official Discord server, and there does not seem to be any official timeframe given for this release, so mobile players might have to wait a bit longer to start playing the latest season, which is set to end on November 24 at 03:00 UTC.
