The beta version of browser MMORPG 77-Bit is officially live, giving players the opportunity to play and earn various rewards until April 4th. Here are the features included in this release and how you can jump in and participate while time remains.
What’s Included in 77-Bit Beta?
The 77-Bit Beta is an early opportunity to try out various gameplay features of this Abstract-powered cyberpunk action RPG while competing for rewards along the way. From March 19th to April 4th, eligible players can enjoy beta gameplay that consists of Wilds, Dungeons, and the Darknet, giving you a glimpse at some of the features you can look forward to seeing in the official release.
Wilds is one of the main game modes in which you explore a variety of open-world zones consisting of numerous enemies to fight for a chance at earning valuable loot. Dungeons is a solo mode in which you battle challenging bosses and uncover hidden areas for a chance at earning rare goodies. The Darknet is a roguelike mode with randomized levels, high-risk gameplay, and “crazy” rewards, and it's said that this mode is perfect if you want to level up quickly and collect lots of Pixels, a soft currency that will be converted to Bytes.
Bytes is an in-platform reward currency that you can earn for free in BitHub, a blockchain gaming platform launched by the same team earlier this year. Now, the web3 gaming community has the opportunity to earn Bytes by playing the platform’s flagship game for 2 weeks. The more Pixels you collect through gameplay, the more Bytes you could possibly earn. Bytes will eventually be converted into Bits and something not yet revealed, but it looks like you will need to own a certain NFT to be eligible for the unrevealed prize. This perhaps could mean that Bytes are like airdrop points for an upcoming token. That’s not all though. If you end up being among the top 5000 Byte holders, you will be rewarded with the “Iconic” status. Not only will this add a cosmetic effect to your profile picture by literally igniting it, but you will also win a whitelist spot to be one of the first to mint a Quantum Core.
Quantum Core is an NFT that rewards holders with an exclusive, free Land NFT, and grants owners with the opportunity to have their Bytes converted into something that is not yet known. The Land NFTs will be given at launch and serve as essential assets for mining various useful resources. It looks like the total supply for Quantum Cores will be 5000, and if you want to be one of the first to have the chance at minting one, you will then want to do your best to gain the previously mentioned Iconic status.
For those who don’t manage to get the Iconic status, you could be assigned the Noob status instead if you meet 4 hidden requirements. Everyone with the Noob status will have their Bytes converted into Bits, which is the hard, premium currency that you can claim every day for free on the BitHub platform.

How to Participate in 77-Bit Beta
If you want to participate in the 77-Bit Beta, you will have to either own a 77-Bit NFT, buy a Battle Pass, become a Noob, or purchase any Bits pack.
77-Bit NFT holders were the first ones to gain access to the beta from March 19th. Next to priority access, NFT holders also received a free Battle Pass, exclusive in-game items, and Boost multipliers, allowing them to earn more Pixels than other players, helping them in turn gain more Bytes. The game’s official NFT can be found on Ethereum via OpenSea for the floor price of 0.407 ETH at the time of writing.
If you want to start playing from March 21st, you need to get a Battle Pass (Edit: access for Battle Pass holders has been delayed. Keep an eye on the game's official Discord server for updates on what happens next). The Battle Pass costs 4200 Bits, and gives you premium quest rewards, beta-exclusive skins, exclusive discounts in the game’s store, and 3x higher Pixels to Bytes conversion. The platform’s shop has 5 different bundles of Bits you can purchase, and the closest options are the 2500 Bits Pack for $23.99, and the 6500 Bits Pack for $59.99. Making the purchase requires connecting your crypto wallet on either Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, BSC, or Arbitrum, with USDT being the most supported option across all networks.
For those with Noob status, or those who choose to buy a Bits pack, you will have to wait until March 25th to gain access to this playtest. The cheapest Bits pack you can get is the 500 Bits Pack, which costs $5.99.
