Planet Mojo, the web3 gaming platform behind Mojo Melee, has announced it will close all of its crypto games. The news was shared on May 31 through an official post on their Discord channel.

The team explained that the market has changed. It is now too hard to keep working on their games the way they planned.
They went on to reflect on the work they've done. "Over the past few years, we've built and shipped games and experiences for our community we are proud of: Mojo Melee, GoGo Mojo, Mojo Maker, as well as bold new experiences such as Prophecy of the Ancients and WWA (World Wide Agents). Each part of a bigger vision: to explore how creativity, community, and Web3 could come together in meaningful, playable ways."
But that vision has come to an end, at least for now. The team added, "While we're incredibly proud of how far these projects came and the passionate community that grew around them, shifting market realities have made it unsustainable to continue developing them at the level they deserve."
All Planet Mojo Games Ending July 1
The shutdown will take effect on July 1. Until then, all games will stay live and playable. The team will also begin to send out rewards for WWA Season 1.
"It is with deep regret that we announce as of July 1, we'll be sunsetting all active Planet Mojo games, including Mojo Melee and WWA," they wrote. "Our Discord will stay active a little while longer so we can close this chapter together."
A New Project: MovieFlo.AI
While the games are shutting down, the studio is not closing. The team is starting a new project called MovieFlo.AI.
In the post, they explain: "As we built, experimented, and pushed creative boundaries, something new began to take shape: a platform designed to democratize cinematic storytelling. That platform is MovieFlo.AI, and it’s now the focus of our team moving forward."
MovieFlo.AI is a tool for making movies and short videos using AI. The team says it's simple to use and made for everyone, not just experts.
"MovieFlo.AI is an AI-powered storytelling and movie-making platform that empowers anyone to create cinematic stories, from concept to screen. Whether you're crafting anime edits, fanfic, meme videos, original films, or something entirely new, MovieFlo.AI removes complexity and puts powerful creative tools in the hands of everyday storytellers: no studio, no training required."
The studio says they will focus most of their time and money on this new platform. But they still want to include the Planet Mojo community. It remains to be seen whether their new project is viable.
"While our primary development focus and resources will now be centered on the massive potential of MovieFlo.AI, we remain committed to our existing community, including granting early access to the MovieFlo.AI private alpha to Planet Mojo community members that sign up for the waitlist at www.movieflo.ai."
About Planet Mojo
Planet Mojo is a web3 gaming ecosystem built on Polygon. The studio was founded by developers with experience at LucasArts, EA, and Activision. It was backed by top blockchain investors like Animoca Brands and Merit Circle. Planet Mojo's idea was to build games where players own the items they earn and have a say in the project's future direction.
But now, it joins a growing list of web3 games that shut down in May 2025.
A Month of Closures
Last month alone, several web3 games closed shop amid funding issues. Ember Sword shut down on May 22. The team said they couldn't keep the game going after struggling with money and slow progress.
Nyan Heroes, despite having over a million players and 250k wishlists, also ended after failing to raise more funds.
Tatsumeeko: Lumina Fates stopped after eight public playtests. The team said they had strayed away from their original goals.
Blast Royale will close on June 30. Rumble Kong League and Wonder Wars also ended due to lack of money and low player numbers.
Now, Planet Mojo is the latest to say goodbye. The studio is placing its bets on MovieFlo.AI, an AI-driven video platform. While the idea is ambitious, it's still early, and time will tell whether this pivot can succeed where many others have struggled.
