Farmers, it's time to grab your tools because Pixels' Guild Wars Season 2: Spore Sports has officially kicked off, running from December 10th to March 4th. This web3 farming game is hosting its biggest event yet, with a jaw-dropping prize pool of 15 million $PIXEL, now valued at $3.6 million. Whether you're in it for the bragging rights, in-game loot, or straight-up $PIXEL rewards, this event has something for everyone.

About Pixels Guild Wars Season 2

This time around, Guild Wars is bigger and better. It's a three-month-long mushroom farming competition where guilds duke it out for top honors. The goal? Harvest as many mushrooms as you can while outsmarting other players with strategies like sabotaging rival crops or speeding up your own growth cycles.

The event runs on a tight schedule, with daily battles happening twice a day (3:00 UTC and 13:00 UTC) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. With only 2 one-hour slots per day, the grind has been streamlined, making it accessible for all.

Mushroom Warfare: New Tools & Strategies

In Spore Sports, it's not just about planting mushrooms—it's about using your tools wisely. The game has introduced Tier 4 (T4) resources like Ultimate Guano, Goo, and Spores, which are absolute game-changers:

  • T4 Guano: Speeds up crop growth instantly.
  • T4 Spores: Adds 10 points per harvest.
  • T4 Goo: Wipes out enemy mushrooms on contact.

To craft these powerful tools, players must visit the Mixer Machines, found in the cave hub map. The trick? Each machine can only be used once every 24 hours, unless you use a Guild Wars Charm to reset the cooldown. Your inputs—such as T2/T3 resources—determine the quality of your T4 outputs.

Rewards Worth Fighting For

Pixels is pulling out all the stops with rewards split into two main categories: Guild Rewards and Individual Rewards.

A. Guild Rewards

Half of the 15 million $PIXEL prize pool is reserved for guilds, divided into four tiers based on membership size:

  • T1: Less than 11 members
  • T2: 11–31 members
  • T3: 32–65 members
  • T4: 65+ members

Each tier has its own leaderboard, with the top three guilds at the end of the season taking home a lion's share of the rewards. Weekly prizes ensure that even guilds that don't dominate the season can still win big.

B. Individual Rewards

The other half of the prize pool goes to individual players. Split into weekly and seasonal leaderboards, you'll compete against 49 other players in your division to climb ranks in categories like Goo usage, Guano usage, and overall points.

Want more? Players can also earn Guild Runes, a unique in-game currency, based on the number of pledged Shards to their guild. These runes can be spent in the rotating store for items like Guild Charms, energy drinks, and more.

Why Guild Wars S2 Is a Game-Changer

Pixels' team has clearly taken player feedback seriously. Here's what's new and improved in this second season:

  1. Less Grind: With only two daily slots, you can balance competing with real life.
  2. Diverse Play Styles: Whether you're a strategic saboteur or a farming fanatic, there's a way to shine.
  3. Transparent Rewards: Full prize breakdowns and leaderboards ensure every effort is rewarded fairly.

A Quick Recap of Guild Wars Season 1

For those who missed it, the first Guild Wars launched in August 2024 with a modest prize pool of 85,000 $PIXEL. Players competed in a similar mushroom farming frenzy, but it was just a taste of what Spore Sports is offering. From a modest start to a multi-million-dollar prize pool, Guild Wars has truly leveled up.
