Pixel Race Club (PRC) has officially launched its first competitive event—Season 0—integrated with the Abstract Portal. This season kicks off the game's web3 journey, mixing high-speed kart racing with play to earn mechanics, NFT bonuses, and a brand-new leaderboard system.

If you're into browser-based games with easy controls, fun chaos, and digital prizes, now's the perfect time to dive in.

How to Join Pixel Race Club Season 0

Season 0 began on May 12, at 2 PM UTC. The event is planned to run for around two weeks. The exact end date hasn't been confirmed yet, but updates will be posted on PRC's Discord and Twitter (X) pages.

To join the race, head over to game.dev.pixelraceclub.com. The game runs in your browser—no download needed. Just hop in and race.

The game is also free to play. You don't need to own an NFT to race or to climb the leaderboard. But players who do own a Safari Racer NFT will get extra in-game perks, like the ability to carry more bombs during a race. That's not nothing when you're trying to edge out the competition.

Earn Abstract XP as You Race

A big new feature this season is the Abstract XP integration. Once you link your Abstract Global Wallet (AGW) to the game, you'll automatically start earning XP with every race you finish. No extra steps needed.

What's more, holding Abstract NFTs in your wallet will boost your XP gains, giving NFT collectors even more reason to play. It's a smart way to reward active players who are already plugged into the Abstract ecosystem.

Compete and Climb the Leaderboard

According to the team, Season 0 introduces the first ever leaderboard system in the game. Here's how it works:

  • 1st place gets 100 points
  • 2nd place gets 50 points
  • 3rd place gets 25 points

Points stack up across races, so the more you play—and win—the better your shot at cracking the top ranks.

At the end of the season, top players will win exclusive prizes like:

  • Safari Racer NFTs
  • Unique Discord roles that offer perks in future seasons
  • Special in-game cosmetics

Even if you don't top the leaderboard, every win and achievement from Season 0 will be saved and recorded. These early results could help shape your future benefits in Season 1 and beyond.

What's New in Season 0?

This first competitive run brings a bunch of game-changing updates:

  • Abstract XP: Earn XP just by racing
  • New Desert Map: Drift through dunes and look for hidden shortcuts
  • NFT Buffs: Safari Racer holders now carry 5 bombs, up from 3
  • Imaginary Ones Collab: Exclusive rider and kart skins now live
  • Improved Leaderboard: Points awarded per race, no complicated scoring

These changes are meant to push Pixel Race Club into true competitive landscape, with a healthy mix of chaos and strategy.

More NFTs Are Coming

Now, the team isn't stopping with the current NFTs. A new public mint for Safari Racers is scheduled for the end of May. These new NFTs will likely offer future utility, from in-game buffs to cosmetics and maybe even staking features.

The dev team is also laying out a full roadmap that includes:

  • More race tracks
  • Advanced reward systems
  • Tournament structures
  • NFT staking for bonuses
  • On-chain badges for achievements

There's no in-game token yet, but the devs hint that this season's point system could play a role in shaping future tokenomics.

What is Pixel Race Club?

Pixel Race Club is an online, multiplayer kart racing game built by PXU on the Abstract Chain. It features voxel-style graphics and high-speed races where players can pick up bombs from crates and use them to slow down rivals.

Each race has three laps. Controls are simple: move with the arrow keys or WASD, and press "B" to use bombs. The game works best on desktop browsers, but mobile support could be added later.

It's chaotic and fun, with just enough strategy to keep things interesting.

Events, Streams, and Where to Follow

With that, the team behind Pixel Race Club will be running community events and Abstract livestreams during Season 0. These events may offer extra prizes or a chance to showcase your racing skills.
