Developer Proof of Play has announced the launch of a new type of creators program for their fully on-chain RPG, Pirate Nation.

How Does the New Pirate Nation Creators Program Work?

The new creators program is designed to reward approved community members who promote Pirate Nation on social media platforms. This program kicked off this March and is set to distribute a total of $12k worth of $PIRATE tokens throughout the month in the form of weekly leaderboard prizes. Every week, the top 4 best creators will receive token rewards, while 5 creators will be randomly picked for $100 in the game’s main token.

So, just by participating, you could be one of the lucky 5 creators to get $100 in $PIRATE tokens. However, if you manage to make high-quality social media posts, gain high impressions, and manage to achieve significant recruitment efforts (that is, help grow the game’s playerbase) in one week of this month, you could end up ranking in the top 4 and earning the following amount:

  • 1st: $1000
  • 2nd: $750
  • 3rd: $500
  • 4th: $250

Each week will bring creators a new challenge to try and take on, with the weekly challenges posted on the game’s official Discord server. Here’s how you can participate!

How to Join Pirate Nation’s New Creators Program

In order to participate, you will need to fill out a form to properly join the new creators program. The Google form is linked in the official announcement thread on X.

Anyone wanting to become a Pirate Nation Creator will have to add in their email address, Discord handle, wallet used to play the web3 game, your referral code, a screenshot of your current referral count, and links to 2-3 posts you’ve made about this blockchain title. These are all of the mandatory steps, so it’s recommended you create social media posts about the game before applying. The other parts of the form that you’ll want to fill at least one of give you the option to share your link to your Twitter/X profile, TikTok profile, Instagram profile, Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Twitch channel, so you should probably share at least one of your social media accounts.

What Is Pirate Nation?

Pirate Nation is a blockchain turn-based RPG in which players use their own ship and customizable deck to take on tactical PvE battles throughout their seafaring journey. The game is played on web browsers and is currently available in beta. Developer Proof of Play raised $33 million back in 2023 to accelerate development on the game but also on its own ecosystem and infrastructure. Last month, there was a limited time for anyone to jump in and mint a free Pirate NFT that is needed to start playing. You now need to get a referral code from someone already playing in order to jump in yourself.

In February 2025, developer Proof of Play introduced Pirate’s Saga, a new game mode in Pirate Nation that adds in new combat challenges for players to complete on the Saga map in order to earn various on-chain rewards. It launched with 20 combat challenges that are geared towards helping players grasp the basics of combat. New challenges, coupled with new map sections and new themes, will be added to this mode in the Arbitrum-powered title over time.

According to a recent Discord announcement, the web3 gaming studio and tech company is currently working on adding PvP and creating the first mobile build for Pirate Nation. The developer recently upgraded their marketplace to make it easier for players to transact with one another across chains.
