The team behind Pirate Nation has announced the release of a new combat system, adding in fast-paced, turn-based action card gameplay that makes each battle on the seas more strategic than ever before.
Labeled as Combat v2, this new system engages the player more by requiring you to make various choices each round in an effort to win the fight, all complimented by a more dynamic camera angle, together with new sounds and effects.
Specifically, with this new system, you receive cards referred to as Actions in a deck or Action Stack. In order to use cards every round, you need enough mana, or Action Points. The cards you can get in battle will depend on your ship type, ship slots and Pirate level, meaning that as you level up, you’ll get to unlock various different cards to use to your advantage. The system has launched with a total of 34 cards, with more on their way in future updates. Existing ones will of course be adjusted as time goes on in order to provide a balanced gameplay experience, with the developers teasing that “special” Pirates may eventually end up seeing “special cards.”
Aside from planning to add in new cards as time goes on, various other features will also make their way into the game, such as card management, PvP, new World Boss events, and more.
