Blowfish Studios has officially launched a new playable phase for Phantom Galaxies, and that is the Beta Cohort 4: Defenders of the Stars.
In Beta Cohort 4, Phantom Galaxies players can enjoy all the goodies from the previous cohorts, while experiencing new additions that include new player progression metrics, upgrading tokens, enemy scaling, a new UI, and the option to buy ore using Starlings.
New player progression metrics are placed in-game and allow you to easily track how well you’re doing on your journey. As a result, all player progress has been reset in order to properly add in this new system, and more resets will likely take place in the future. In other progression-related updates, the developers have changed the Avatar Level cap to 4, while Power Level now has a cap of 20. The Breacher Class close-quarters mecha is also back in action.
Enemy scaling is now present in the sci-fi title, meaning that the Power Level of enemies that spawn for repeatable content gets changed accordingly, providing a consistent challenge for experienced players.
A new UI has been partially implemented, giving the launcher, main menu and combat interfaces a sleek new look. Players now also have the option to easily capture in-game images with or without the HUD by pressing F2.
In order to gain access to Beta Cohort 4, you need to either own any Phantom Galaxies NFT or any amount of ASTRAFER. The assets can be bought on the game’s official website, as well as on secondary marketplaces, with the official website offering the option to mint Starfighter and Avatar Mintpasses for 88 ASTRAFER.
Once you meet one of the above mentioned requirements, you can generate a beta access code with a connected wallet on the website, allowing you to download the game’s launcher and input the code once you open the game. A MacOS version is planned to be released in the future.
