Pengu Clash, a new skill-based multiplayer game from Pudgy Penguins, is set to launch on June 18. The date was confirmed on social media, along with new gameplay clips that quickly got web3 gaming fans talking.
Along with that, Pudgy Penguins also announced a partnership with NASCAR. Though few details were shared, a teaser video released by Pudgy Penguins showed Pudgy, the brand's signature character, was working out for a NASCAR race. Another X post from the Pengu Clash account also showed that the game's logo appears in the NASCAR teaser, suggesting a deeper tie between the game and the racing giant.
Pengu Clash was first revealed in May 2025 during a soft launch phase. The game is a fast-paced multiplayer mini-app built for Telegram, using the TON network as its underlying infrastructure. It is built in partnership with Elympics, a platform that provides real-time blockchain gaming tools.
The game features one-on-one matches where players compete in short, skill-based mini-games like Darts, Football, and Bomber. All gameplay is designed to focus on fairness and fun, moving away from "play to earn" models toward a "play to win" approach.
Pengu Clash is one of the first few games to integrate TON with Telegram's mini-app. This integration allows users to start playing instantly without needing a separate wallet. However, connecting a TON wallet unlocks cosmetic NFT items and access to token-based prize pools.
During its early access phase, Pengu Clash encouraged players to sign up as "lil' waddlers," with rewards offered for referrals and early gameplay.
The game's strong focus on social interaction within Telegram also helped it grow quickly. By mid-June, over 2 million users had signed up to try the game, indicating strong interest in casual yet competitive blockchain-based experiences.
The dev team at Elympics said that their priority was to offer real competition, not speculation. According to Elympics co-founder Tom Kopera, the goal with Pengu Clash is "fun, skill-based gameplay and meaningful token utility."
Although specifics have not yet been revealed, Pudgy Penguins confirmed a formal partnership with NASCAR on June 12. The announcement stated that Pengu would be featured across NASCAR fan content globally.
This move is seen as a major milestone for the Pudgy Penguins brand, which has increasingly aimed to bridge blockchain IP with mainstream entertainment. The teaser's inclusion of Pengu Clash branding hints that the game could play a role in NASCAR-themed events, marketing, or cross-promotions going forward.
Pengu Clash is part of a larger effort by Pudgy Penguins to evolve from an NFT collection into a broader entertainment brand. First launched in 2021 as a set of Ethereum-based collectibles, the Pudgy Penguins IP now spans physical toys, retail partnerships, and several blockchain titles.
Among these projects is Pudgy World, a browser-based open world powered by zkSync. Here, players can explore as customizable penguin avatars and interact in a social environment. Users can unlock in-game content by scanning QR codes from physical Pudgy toys, combining digital and physical experiences.
Another upcoming title is Pudgy Party, a mobile game inspired by party hits like Fall Guys. Set to launch later in 2025, it focuses on team-based fun and uses the Mythos Chain to ensure smooth performance. The game will be playable on both iOS and Android.
What's more, Pudgy Penguins appear in LOL Land, a web3 board game by Yield Guild Games. Released on May 23, LOL Land lets players roll dice across themed maps, featuring officially licensed Pudgy characters.
With the upcoming launch of Pengu Clash and the NASCAR partnership now underway, Pudgy Penguins continues to expand its role in the gaming and entertainment space. The brand's pivot from NFT project to multi-platform IP is gathering momentum, driven by strategic collabs and gameplay-first experiences.
For those already on the waitlist, June 18 will be a key date to watch.
