After launching into open beta at the end of February, this phase is set to continue as the studio has announced that the Season 2 of Parallel TCG, titled as the Void-forged Oath, is now scheduled to begin on April 1st at 00:00 UTC.
For the second season of this beta, the community can expect to see a new Battle Pass featuring a new playable card alongside various rewards and exclusive cosmetics. The card in question is a new Shroud Legendary card called Argoel’s Fealty. It’s a Relic type card that enters the field with 3 counters and comes with 2 use cases: one of them includes removing a counter from this relic at the start of your turn while targeting a friendly unit with an ability that allows the friendly unit to "destroy any unit dealt damage in combat by this unit." The other use case is for when the relic has no counters; in that case, units that go in your hand or on the field in your control “from your singularity gain Battle Ready,” which allows the unit to attack on the same turn that it is played.
The new cosmetics can be seen in the image above and include 3 skins, 1 card back and 1 card frame. By reaching level 33 in this season’s Battle Pass, you will earn the following title achievement: Soulripper.
This season introduces a new game mode to compete in: Tournaments. Players will be able to participate in 3 types of in-game tournaments: Open Tournaments, Standard Tournaments, and High Stakes Tournaments. While the rules and format for all 3 will be the same, the entry fee and prize structure will be different for each one.
At the start of the season, only Open Tournaments will be available as the developers test out the new feature and make sure it is stable enough to move ahead. In Open Tournaments there are no entry fees, while prizes will include an exclusive title, Apparition Packs and Standard Tournament Tickets.
Open Tournaments will begin on April 2nd. 15 players will face each other in a single elimination 4-round tournament bracket, with each match having a 30-minute time limit. Each player has 15 minutes of bank time to use throughout the match, with the time running out during their turn. If you run out of time or lose all your Health, you lose the match.
On the same day Patch 0.28 went live, Parallel Studios announced a successful raise of $35 million in a new funding round that will help them further expand their sci-fi world.
