Own a Tank to Play Spider Tanks in Closed Beta

Gala Games has launched a closed beta test for their new battle arena game Spider Tanks, and all you need to have to qualify is a tank. These tanks are NFTs which users can buy from the Gala Games store. According to the announcement the test will run at least for two weeks.

There are full tanks in the Gala Games Store. These will cost you at least 2022 GALA ($201) for the uncommon Noxious tank. According to the announcement owning a body part and a weapon would also suffice, as those combined can form a tank as well. For 586 GALA you can find a common Junker or Nomad body, while the cheapest weapon would be a common cannon worth 667 GALA.

Spider Tanks is a new battle arena game. The PVP brawler will become free-to-play, but will also incorporate play-to-earn mechanics centering around skill-based competition, resource collection and an upgrade cycle for your NFTs. Dutch game studio Gamedia and Gala Games plan to release Spider Tanks before the end of the year.

If you own a tank, you can download the launcher from the official website. Simply go the Spider Tanks page, and click the download button. You'll be able to play the closed beta once you've confirmed ownership over the right NFTs.

What is Spider Tanks?

Spider Tanks is a 3v3 Brawler/MOBA, which allows players to pick and choose between a number of armored units and armaments. They can then battle it out on a series of maps. Gamers can enjoy the game as a free-to-play game with play-to-earn mechanics. The game centers around skill-based competition, resource collection, and a player-driven upgrade cycle.

The NFT strategy for this game will center around tanks, weapons, buildings, and ownable land. Players can use this land to place workshops and resource mines. Upgrading tanks happens in the workshop, using resources collected through play.

Players can also improve these buildings and the land parcels by upgrading them. However, land will be limited available. This all depends on player numbers. You’ll be able to buy some NFTs from the Gala Games Store, while players can upgrade other items only through active gameplay and play-to-earn mechanics. Special unit upgrades will only be available as NFT purchases.
