Obitus Games has announced the launch of OverForge 2.0 for their free to play card battler OverKnights, giving players a limited time opportunity to win daily USDC prizes.
OverForge 2.0 is the second and upgraded edition of the web3 game’s temporary in-game leaderboard system, introduced as a way to encourage intense competitive PvP battles as players wait for the next major campaign cycle to begin. Through this system, the top 10 players can win USDC rewards and possibly more until the end of the month.
The leaderboard kicked off on June 19 and resets every day at midnight UTC, so a new day means a new opportunity to play to earn by winning as many tactical PvP card battles as you can. You can win on multiple days too, so feel free to compete again the next day if you secure a top 10 spot today.
Next to winning money from the daily prize pool, the best player of the day is also rewarded with a whitelist spot. It’s not stated what you’re getting whitelisted for though, but based on the roadmap, the whitelist spot should be for the Genesis Pilot NFT mint, scheduled for Q2 2025, or for the first OverKnights NFT Series, slated to launch in Q4 2025.
Here is how leaderboard rewards are distributed every day until the end of June:
You’ll want to make sure you can consistently achieve these top spots every day, because the top 5 overall players by the end of this event are set to earn unspecified bonus rewards at the end of the month. What bonus goodies await the best players will be revealed closer to the end of the month, “but trust us, it’ll be worth it.”
To play to earn in this mini campaign, you will want to secure as many wins as you can every day for daily USDC prizes. You can get started for free by downloading OverKnights from the Epic Games Store, where the Immutable and Sequence-backed game is currently live in open alpha.
In order to qualify for rewards, make sure to connect your Immutable wallet. This will allow the developers to send you prizes to your wallet the next working day once the leaderboard has been reset. This means that if you rank in the top 10 during the weekend, you will receive rewards on Monday. Just make sure to have your wallet connected so your efforts are not done in vain. If you don’t connect your wallet, the rewards will go to the next player in line instead. And of course, as usual, nefarious practices such as exploiting, bug abusing, and exploitative behavior are not allowed and will lead to disqualification.
According to the official announcement, OverForge 2.0 is just the start of bigger plans. After this leaderboard-based event is over, you can look forward to seeing more updates, new quests, and “new surprises” to enjoy. All of these additions will lead to the start of the next big Immutable Leaderboard Campaign.
The final standings for the first Immutable leaderboard were just recently announced. For that campaign, the top 250 players competed for Genesis Pilot NFTs of varying rarities, which they will receive on mint day. Details on what the second campaign will feature has not been revealed at the time of writing, but if you’d like to be better prepared for that reward-packed event, then now is a great time to hone your tactical skills by playing the early access version of the game on PC for free.
