This week, Onchain Heroes (OCH) will be back with its biggest update yet. Built by Skarly, a former Wolf Game developer, this fully onchain idle RPG is now entering Season 2, called Dragma. The new season will bring deeper mechanics, higher risk, and a full refresh for all players. It picks up where Season 1 left off but pushes the game even further.

Meet Dragma: The Multiverse's Biggest Threat
This time, Season 2 introduces a powerful new enemy: Dragma. This massive being was born from broken timelines and spreads destruction across worlds. It feeds on $HERO, the energy that powers your heroes. Now, it's coming for the game's universe.
As Dragma's forces invade, players must fight back. But this season isn't just about survival, it's about preparing for a final battle against the World Boss himself. Players will need to build their strength, hold their ground, and stop Dragma before it's too late.

Onchain Heroes Season 2: What's In Store
S2 will get a full reset, with all Genesis Heroes returning to Level 1. To play, you'll need two NFTs: a Genesis Hero and a Weapon. These are required and available on Magic Eden or OpenSea. You can also use $HERO tokens and Genesis Rings for extra boosts, but they're optional.
Like last time, the season is split into two parts. Phase 1 is live at launch. In it, players send their heroes into battle against Dragma's Underlings. You will stake your hero and weapon for at least 6 hours and earn $HERO tokens based on how much damage you deal. That damage now depends on your hero's level, plus your weapon's Sharpness and Durability.
The more damage you do, the more $HERO you earn. The system includes both fixed rewards and bonus tokens based on your setup. For example, a Level 10 hero with decent stats might earn around 2,520 $HERO per day.
Leaderboards and $HERO Use
Season 2 will also bring back the leaderboard. This time, it's more focused on effort. Just earning $HERO passively won't cut it. You can earn Leaderboard Points (LBP) by doing things like leveling up, repairing gear, sharpening weapons, and minting new items.
High-risk choices like "Unknown Leveling" give more points when they work. Remixing weapons also earns you extra points. At the end of the season, the top players will win prizes like Genesis Rings, $HERO rewards, and other special in-game items. There's also Abstract XP, which tracks your progress across the whole Abstract Chain ecosystem.
Phase 2: Fight the World Boss
About 3 to 4 weeks into the season, Phase 2 will unlock. This is when the real challenge begins. You'll take on Dragma, the World Boss. These fights will be harder and riskier. There's no level cap, but your hero can die in battle. That makes smart leveling and gear choice even more important.
This phase will also add rare loot, crafting materials, and new mechanics that let you fine-tune your loadout. Full details on crafting will come closer to Phase 2's launch.

New Gacha Zone Features
Season 2 also upgrades the Gacha Zone. This is where you can build and improve your weapons. There are three main options. You can pull random weapons, remix two weapons into a stronger one, or mint new gear using $HERO.
Each of these feeds into the core loop: stake, earn, upgrade, repeat. Better weapons mean better results in battle, and a better shot at climbing the leaderboard.

So, What Is Onchain Heroes?
Onchain Heroes is a web3 RPG built on Abstract Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2. Everything in the game runs fully onchain. That means your actions, battles, and rewards are transparent and provably fair. The game uses Proof of Play's VRF tech to make sure nothing is rigged.
In Season 1, players earned $HERO by leveling up and fighting dungeon bosses. It was split into two phases: one for grinding (the Leveling Game) and one for high-stakes battles (Endgame Dungeon). Players who did well earned Gacha Tokens. Half of all $HERO spent was burned to keep the game's economy in check. The rest went to top performers.
What's Next
According to the team, Season 2 will raise the bar with more risk, deeper strategy, and stronger rewards. Dragma is coming, and only the best-prepared ones will survive. The exact launch will probably happen this week, but the game's docs are live now. Check them out here before you dive in.
