Off The Grid (OTG) has launched its biggest update yet for October 2025, Kill The Feed. Already live, this patch brings wide-reaching changes to gameplay, movement, and customization. It follows the August update, which was the largest until now. From a new battle pass system to a brand new cyberlimb, players now have a lot more tools and systems to explore on Teardrop Island.

Kill The Feed Update Now Live

The Kill The Feed update introduces a long list of features that shift how players engage with the game. Most notably, it adds the PainKilla cyberlimb, the Dodge movement ability, narrative missions, a reworked linear battle pass, new camera options, and major tweaks to combat, loot, and weapons.

On top of that, OTG is also celebrating its 1-year Early Access anniversary this week. Daily login rewards are live now, including new gear, a themed Anniversary Set, weapon skins, and even a new DJ track.

A full 4K dev walkthrough of the Kill The Feed update is also available down below.

New Core Movement: Dodge

Movement in Off The Grid now feels more responsive thanks to the new Dodge ability. Players can dodge left, right, or forward on the ground or in mid-air. This new ability has three charges that slowly regenerate and opens up faster combat flow.

Unlike sprinting or sliding, dodge can be used to cancel into or out of other moves. It also adds a much-needed base-level mobility option for players without movement limbs. Dodge replaces manual sprint, and Roadrunners have been reworked to offer slower but long-lasting speed.

PainKilla: New Support Cyberlimb

Support roles also gain a new option with the PainKilla cyberlimb, a drone that hovers near the player or nearby objects. It creates a green healing zone, giving health and armor over time to everyone inside. If teammates are knocked down, the drone revives them automatically.

The drone remains active for a set time based on its rarity and disappears once destroyed or expired. This makes PainKilla a high-value tool in team fights or tight firefights.

Narrative Campaign Begins

A new narrative campaign called Kill The Feed is now live. It marks the game's first step into story missions, with more to follow later this year. This adds a PvE layer to the game's current PvP-focused experience and ties into the larger world and characters behind Teardrop Island.

Career Progress and Achievements

Players now get access to OTG Achievements, which unlock new features when completed. Up to 3 earned features can now be shown on your player badge.

Along with this, the battle pass has been changed to a linear format. Every level now gives a reward. After level 100, an infinite track becomes available. The battle pass is also now separate from the subscription model.

Major Movement Tweaks

Jetpacks now activate faster to avoid stalls and have increased overheat. A land roll was added when falling too fast, while fall damage has been removed except when knocked. Mantling mid-air is smoother, and wall jumps can now break glass.

Sliding now has slight nerfs on steep slopes, with more limits on how fast you can cancel into crouch. Turning animations have also been improved for smoother character motion.

Combat and Weapon Changes

Combat also feels different now. Distant characters are easier to see, thanks to added outlines and higher contrast. Melee attacks are smoother and come with knockback if enemies have no shield. Finishers now reset all limb cooldowns.

Weapons have gone through balance changes. Assault rifles now have inverted recoil, meaning shots start tight but spread more as you hold fire. This is meant to restore weapon class identity and make ARs more suited for longer ranges.

Shotguns, SMGs, and sidearms now deal better damage at mid-range. Aimed-down-sight (ADS) views in third-person have been adjusted to allow better vision during fights.

Lightweight and heavy attachments for assault rifles have also been balanced to match these recoil changes.

Cyberlimb and Drone Reworks

Several cyberlimbs have seen reworks. The Buzzkilla drone now follows the player and attacks automatically. The Recon Drone now highlights better and self-destructs if more than one is active.

The Mirror Breaker clone has better animations and higher speed. Its cooldowns have been lowered, and it now lasts longer. The Roadrunners leg has new logic to gradually speed up and decelerate. It now works while mantling and no longer cancels from sliding or reloading.

Grapple Hooks now allow weapon swaps while pulling. The Paralyzer arm blocks dodge within its effect zone, and Tripmines can now link between teammates. The Skunkpaw limb can now ignite from nearby explosions for extra damage.

Loot and Match Flow

Loot drops have been increased, with more in-game currency (RIP) found in matches. Backpacks now give lower default carry weight, but a new Hoarder's Backpack was added for armor and ammo-heavy loadouts. The lowest-tier backpack has been removed from the game.

Respawn logic in Extraction Royale has been updated. Higher-tier loot appears later in the match, while early in the game players will find more low-tier gear. The team also added high tier loot zones at the start of the match.

Zone damage now increases the longer you stay inside, with a cooldown once you leave. Kills now grant 350 RIP, and manual redeploys have cooldowns. Deployment speed has also been raised.

Camera, HUD, and Quality of Life

Players now get new settings for field of view (FOV), shake intensity, and camera behavior while landing or sprinting. There are clearer UI elements for cyberlimbs and player profiles.

Default controls for both keyboard and controller have been improved. Melee can now be mapped to mouse buttons, and sprinting is now always automatic.

HUD fixes include better knockdown indicators, more visible viewpoints, and fewer overlap issues. Bugs affecting attachments, animations, and minimap markers have also been fixed.

Audio Updates

Off The Grid now uses HDR Audio to better balance loud sounds. Enemy footsteps and jetpacks are now easier to hear. Spatial audio presets improve 3D sound, and high-speed movement adds wind effects.

New voice lines have also been added for combat DJs and other in-game events.

Anniversary Rewards Are Live

To celebrate the game's 1-year anniversary, daily login rewards are active as of October 7. Showing up on October 8 will give special items, including:

  • Anniversary Set
  • 24 Weapon Skins
  • A new Barret weapon
  • A new DJ Track
  • New Profile Picture and Background

This event is live now for all players.

What Is Off The Grid?

Off The Grid is a near-future cyberpunk shooter from visionary director Neill Blomkamp. Set on Teardrop Island, players take part in a deadly televised battle royale where gear, limbs, and cyberware can be looted and traded. The game focuses on fast jetpack movement and deep customization using a modular limb-swapping system. All gear found in-game can be traded through GUNZ's marketplace, including on OpenSea.

A full 60-hour story campaign is planned for later this year, but PvP gameplay is live now. Players can jump into ranked and unranked matches to earn loot, climb leaderboards, and swap items through the blockchain.
