Developer 9 Lives Interactive has released a new pre-alpha gameplay trailer for team-based hero shooter Nyan Heroes ahead of the Web3 title’s free-to-play early access launch on the Epic Games Store.
The new trailer, posted on Twitter/X and YouTube, is packed with around 2 minutes of action-packed gameplay, showcasing a variety of movement and verticality that players can take advantage of in a diverse range of environments. We also get to see a variety of mechs and cat characters that we’ll be able to play with in third-person view as we utilize their own weapons and abilities to strategically take down opposing players in swift fashion. Specifically, the footage is focused on showcasing Seraph, Ghost, Atlas and Spartan, the former two being nimble feline characters, while the latter are large strong mechs.
While the trailer does not explicitly state any game modes, throughout the gameplay shown we get to see two teams of 6 fighting for control of an objective, essentially a king of the hill mode where you must hold a certain area. On the Epic Games Store, it’s stated that two teams will fight to “secure various map objectives to win the match.”
After getting listed on the Epic Games Store in January this year, it was later on revealed that early access is set to begin on March 26th, when anyone on Windows will be able to download the Web3 shooter for free on the Epic Games Store. Players will have time until April 9th to enjoy this public playtest. The $NYAN airdrop campaign is still ongoing, with a play-to-airdrop system set to be in place for this upcoming playtest, rewarding Nyan Heroes and Guardian NFT holders with bonus rewards.
Last week, 9 Lives Interactive secured $3 million for Nyan Heroes in a strategic investor round that included Delphi Digital, Mechanism Capital, and more.
