The development team behind Nine Chronicles, an open-source, decentralized idle RPG, has announced a proposal featuring various suggestions that the company, Planetarium Labs, thinks should be implemented in order to ensure a sustainable and healthy protocol.

The proposal contains various rules designed to combat “abnormal activities” that could hamper the sustainability of the Nine Chronicles protocol. One of these unethical activities mentioned by the team in their abstract includes the ownership of more than one account to gain an advantage in “areas where the mainnet has unfortunately been unable to respond due to its openness.” They also specifically point out two types of “abnormal account behaviors” in the game, one of which includes accounts that “repeatedly register and cancel large quantities of items in the shop,” leading to congestion in the network that prevents other players from normally making their transactions.

As a result of these and potentially other issues hampering the player’s experience, the developers have made this proposal following community complaints. No voting for this will take place, as the purpose of revealing this proposal is to “inform users of the reasons for our actions, the actions which will take place, and our ongoing efforts.”

The changes the team plans on implementing include making a change in the TransferAsset action by adding conditions for Crystal Transfer via this action that makes Crystal Transfer only possible from designated addresses that will only be capable of processing transactions that the community agrees with. This change is planned to go live for update v100370.

Another change to the TransferAsset action involves placing a fee for the transfer of NCG through this action, with the fee being 0.5 NCG. This fee is scheduled to be added for update v100380 and will prove helpful in “deterring and tracking down abnormal account behaviors, which involve withdrawing small amounts of funds in bulk.” In that same update, the developers plan on including an AP cost for Shop-related actions during gameplay, while next month will feature new daily reward sizes in the Onboarding Portal.
