Nifty Island, the free to play social game world, is gearing up for its biggest event yet. The $ISLAND token will officially launch on December 17th. This Ethereum-based metaverse lets players create custom islands, play games, and bring NFTs to life. The team has just shared some new updates for the TGE, focusing on faster access to tokens and clearer distribution plans.

No Lock-Ups for Nifty Island's P2A Rewards

Nifty Island's play to airdrop campaign rewarded over 140,000 active wallets. It ran for nine months and ended on November 1, 2024. The campaign was a hit, with players crafting almost 70,000 islands while earning $ISLAND tokens for their efforts.

At first, these rewards were going to be unlocked gradually. But now, the team has decided to remove all vesting and unlock all P2A tokens at TGE.

"Given the current environment, we're going with a launch strategy without lock ups for P2A participants," the team shared. "For the market we're in right now, we believe this is the best way to put $ISLAND on strong footing going into 2025."

This means 100% of P2A tokens will be available to players on December 17th. This includes the base 10% allocation, a 2.5% boost announced in November, and an extra 0.1% added from Pre-ISLAND Gacha rewards.

Gacha Rewards Added to P2A

If you missed the play to airdrop campaign, there's still a way to get $ISLAND tokens. Nifty Island's Gacha system lets players earn BLOOMS through daily challenges and island visits. BLOOMS can then be used to spin the Gacha, which contains vouchers for $ISLAND tokens. These vouchers will be converted into tokens during the TGE.

As of now, one million $ISLAND tokens are loaded into the Gacha. The team has added these to the P2A allocation, ensuring that everyone who engaged with the game gets rewarded.

Mocaverse Partnership Updated

Mocaverse, a popular Web3 platform, played a key role in driving engagement during Nifty Island's P2A campaign. To acknowledge this, 1% of the total $ISLAND supply has been allocated for MocaDrop. This partnership continues to bolster user acquisition and awareness for $ISLAND.

Snapshot and Airdrop Timing

With the TGE around the corner, Nifty Island has locked in the following dates:

  • Palm Snapshot: December 16th, 10:00 AM CST, Collector tiers will be finalized at this time. These tiers will determine rewards for participants.
  • $ISLAND Airdrop: December 17th, 1:00 PM CST, Tokens will be distributed to eligible wallets shortly after the TGE.

The team has also teased updates to its play to earn system, which will allow players to use their Palm collectibles to earn more $ISLAND.

Team (19.5%): Locked for up to two years to ensure team commitment.

Project Treasury (9.2%): Reserved for strategic growth and market expansion.

Exchange Liquidity (1%): Dedicated to ensuring smooth token trading.

The long-term lock-ups for investors, advisors, and team members show the project's focus on sustainability. For example, 71% of investor tokens are locked for two years, with the remaining locked for three years. Similarly, most team tokens are locked for two years to ensure alignment with the community's interests.
