Following a soft launch of User Generated Quests, gaming metaverse Nifty Island has now announced that the system is open for all to use. To celebrate this official release and incentivize players to create quests, the team has decided to host the Quest Master Contest, for which you have until January 2nd to participate.
User Generated Quests represent this platform’s on-chain rewards system that allows the web3 gaming community to create and host their own quests on their islands, encouraging players to enter their worlds to earn various rewards for completing these casual and competitive events. This in turn benefits creators hosting these quests, as in-game activity on their island can be rewarded with Blooms, an in-game currency that can be converted to $ISLAND tokens through the P2E system.
Players can host a variety of different types of quests on their islands, ranging from casual hangout style events to competitive battles across various different game modes referred to as Playground games. To get other players interested in playing on your island, you’ll need to add some prizes to reward the best players participating in your quest. If you have Blooms, Palm NFTs, $ISLAND tokens, ETH and other assets, and you don’t mind giving them away, you can choose to add these to the reward pool for players to compete for, generating traffic to your island for potentially bigger Bloom earnings. You can even put up your own custom made UGC assets as raffle rewards!
Quests will continue to be improved over time with new features, Playground games and more, as revealed in a dev roadmap, opening up room for more freedom and creativity in order to properly deliver a high quality, UGC-focused blockchain gaming experience.
Check out the available community-created quests in this section of the official website, where you can also find an option to create your own as well. If you want to get significantly higher prizes for creating quests, then you might want to quickly hop into the User-Created Quest Master Contest!
If you want to join in on this new creator-focused contest, which runs from December 28th, 2 PM CST, to January 2nd, 2 PM CST, you will need to create a quest that belongs to one of these 3 types: Bloom Battle, Island Event, or Time Trial.
Bloom Battle is a quest type in which players can compete across a range of different competitive mini-games known as Playground games. These are based on classic game modes such as Capture the Flag, Infection, Team Deathmatch, and more. Players rank on the quest leaderboard based on the number of points earned from eligible modes. In order for them to enter the raffle(s) for the prize(s) you’re offering though, they’ll need to earn the minimum number of quest points you’ve set for that raffle in order to participate.
Island Event is a more relaxing type of quest that encourages players to simply hop in and hang out on your cool island, listening to music, socializing, and maybe playing some games here and there. Players earn points simply for visiting your island and exploring about, using those points to enter your raffles.
If you’d like your visitors to race for the best time, then you’ll want to host the Time Trial quest type, where players can earn points for getting the fastest times in certain quest games, using once again those same points for a chance at winning one of your prizes.
Whichever eligible quest type you choose to host, it will be ultimately up to you to decide on the number of prizes there are up for grabs. You can also adjust the number of quest points players need to enter your raffles as well. What’s important is that the quest you’re hosting only takes place on a single island that is owned by you.
If your quests end up having enough unique verified participants who manage to earn at least 5 quest points, then you could end up winning Blooms and potentially NFTs by ranking among the following percentiles:
To make sure this is a fair contest for all creators, the Nifty Island team has come up with a way to prevent or minimize botting, and that is by requiring players to have at least 1000 $ISLAND tokens staked in order to participate in user-created quests hosted during this event. You don’t need to enable any specific option for this to work. By simply creating a quest during this contest, this eligibility criteria will be automatically put into place.
The winners of this contest for User Generated Quests will be announced on January 3rd, 2025, while rewards will be sent within 2 weeks from that day.
