NFTs Get Introduced to Grand Theft Auto V and Minecraft Servers

MyMetaverse has announced that its "MetaHome" NFTs collection will be used in MyMetaverse’s full suite of games, including Minecraft and GTA5 servers. The NFT collection is the first in-game NFT to be minted on Effinity, a para chain of Polkadot. During the launch, the firm stated that the NFTs would perform different functions in three other games offering unique gameplay utility in every world where they are recognized. 

In an interview with MyMetaverse, the team stated,

“To clarify, the NFTs have been minted on Efinity and can be incorporated in MyMetaverse Grand Theft Auto and Minecraft gaming servers. In Infinity Auto, a MyMetaverse Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 server, they take the form of a rare vehicle; in Survival Infinity, a MyMetaverse Minecraft server, they become a special sword. In answer to your question, they are not official integrations with Rockstar or Minecraft.”

Enjin: NFT Integration Platform 

MyMetaverse is one of the early ecosystem partners permitted to make NFTs available on Effinity ahead of many other projects. Enjin, an ecosystem for integrating NFTs into virtual worlds, is helping Effinity to enable fast and affordable NFT transactions.

Simon Kertonegoro, CEO and founder of MyMetaverse, also commented,

“We believe the most valuable NFTs will be those that have the greatest impact on people’s everyday experiences. With utility in three separate games, the MetaHome collection is an exploration of blockchain-enabled, cross-game interoperability. Thanks to Enjin’s toolkit, it is now the first playable NFT within the Polkadot ecosystem.”

The MetaHome collection will be functional in other MyMetaverse titles, including the MMO game Infinity Realms leveraging Enjin's Open Platform.

The CTO of Enjin, Witek Radomski, added,

“Enjin aims to be the NFT highway connecting game studios and their users onto the blockchain. We are excited to collaborate with MyMetaverse to integrate NFTs into AAA games such as GTA 5––allowing gamers to own digital collectibles within their favorite games.”

According to Enjin, only a few game studios, including Square  Enix and Entropia Universe, can access Effinity. Enjin is currently building a blockchain explorer, wallet, marketplace and various development tools, supporting the growth of Efinity.
