Yuga Labs has chronicled its projections for the first six months after the onboarding of a new CEO, Daniel Alegre. He spoke about the accomplishments so far and the challenges that the company is fixing.
On Twitter, Daniel shared the updates where he said,
“Since day one, I have made it a point to attend as many meet-ups as I possibly can, so that I can get to know you, immerse myself, and try my best to understand the tapestry of POVs that make up this eclectic Yuga family.”
In his address via his X account, he stressed the need for feedback, especially from the fans, as it has been an important element of growth for the energetic digital ecosystem of Yuga Labs. He made references to advice he got from a Yuga founder on the 6-month learning curve, which has helped him to understand the communication dynamics peculiar to Yuga brands.
He also talked about his conversations and engagements with several individuals in the community, which were not driven by his role description but by his passion for channeling feedback into creativity. Feedback has birthed initiatives such as the CryptoPunks art elevation, the Made by Apes program, and the fast-tracking of the Otherside project.
Alegre came into office six months ago to handle a poorly staffed company. His first was to review the activities and see if they aligned with the core values. This forced a restructuring at three different points - execution of Otherside, liaising with the community, and partnering with others for major initiatives. Daniel also talked about the relationship between CryptoPunks and YugaLabs, which is part of his commitment to uplift the brand's legacy.
Concerning partnerships with Hassan, Big Rhino, and the procurement of Roar studios, he said, "Building an immersive metaverse platform is hard – both technically and creatively. You have undoubtedly noticed a constant drumbeat of announcements recently – from the partnerships with Hadean and Big Rhino, to the acquisition of Roar Studios – which are all aligned towards accelerating the evolution of Otherside, so it can be the digital connection and experience platform for our Yuga family of communities and beyond."
