Web3 gaming studio Mythical Games is kicking off the summer with big numbers and even bigger plans. The company announced that it has generated over $650 million in completed transactions across its games, fueled by more than 7 million players and 4 million+ total transactions.
The news lands at a perfect time. Mythical is set to roll out two of its most anticipated titles: FIFA Rivals, a fast-paced mobile football game, and Pudgy Party, a new game based on the popular Pudgy Penguins NFT brand.
In a post on X, Mythical emphasized its belief that "mobile onchain gaming works because players focus on the game, not the tech," highlighting how their strategy revolves around fun first, blockchain second.
First up is FIFA Rivals, a fast-paced mobile football game made with FIFA. Players will compete in live events and tournaments, build dream squads, and unlock "Super Mode" to power up moves. The game will also offer digital player cards based on real FIFA stars.
Pudgy Party is another major step. This new game will bring the world of Pudgy Penguins to mobile, mixing lighthearted gameplay with colorful characters. It will offer the same pick-up-and-play fun that made NFL Rivals a hit for Mythical. Both titles are expected to launch on the Mythical Platform this year.
Mythical Games was started in 2018 by veterans of Activision: John Linden (CEO), Jamie Jackson (Chief Creative Officer), Rudy Koch (Business Development), and Chris Downs (Infrastructure). The team set out to build a new kind of game studio, one that could mix new tech ideas with polished gaming.
Investors like a16z, ARK Invest, Animoca Brands, and MoonPay have backed the company. Mythical has grown its reach by using strong brands and making games that appeal to a wide audience.
Unlike some studios that focused heavily on web3 tech, Mythical has tried to keep gameplay simple. While blockchain features are there, they are not the main selling point. Many players might not even realize they are part of a web3 game.
Mythical is not just building tools — it's putting out games that people are playing.
Beyond gaming, Mythical has also built a powerful backend: the Mythical Platform and the Mythos ecosystem, powered by the MYTH token.
Developers can use Mythical's platform to easily plug NFTs and blockchain features into their games. Players use MYTH tokens for transactions, governance, and trading on the Mythical Marketplace, which got a major upgrade in 2023 after Mythical acquired DMarket, a digital asset marketplace.
All in all, Mythical's numbers show strong growth as the team heads into a busy season. With FIFA Rivals and Pudgy Party on the way, Mythical hopes to bring even more players into its world.
