Blockchain gaming studio Mythical Games has officially announced the launch of Football Rivals on Telegram, adding new utility to NFTs used by players in the officially-licensed sports game, NFL Rivals.

What Is Football Rivals?

Football Rivals is a new free to play Telegram mini-app in which players can use their NFTs from NFL Rivals to take part in weekly challenges for a chance at earning $MYTH tokens as rewards. The on-chain title revolves around delivering stats-based gameplay while leveraging the accessibility of the messaging platform to easily bring in a wide audience of gamers and sports fans to a blockchain gaming experience that the team at Mythical Games says represents “a huge leap for cross-game utility in the Web3 gaming industry!”

The game revolves around participating in various turn-based events that differ in difficulty, the number of rounds, the stats they focus on, and more. Anyone can participate in these events for free by choosing a certain amount of officially-licensed cards to form an all-star team. If the event is focused on stats such as power, endurance, strength, and so on, you’ll want to pick players who have high values in these same attributes for a better chance of winning the event.

Once you confirm the team for an event, you start playing the event right away through turn-based gameplay. The game shows you your opponents for each round, with each round having you face off against a different card. Basically, each round shows you the opposing card and its stats, while also showing two or more stats that the round is focused on. So if a round lists strength and endurance as the possible stats that determine the winner of the round, you simply pick the card that has higher strength and endurance stats over the opposing card. Place the better card and you win the round, increasing your event score. You have a limited time to quickly choose your card though, and the faster your pick, the bigger time bonus added to your score. The same card can't be used multiple times in a single event, as once you use it in one round, you can't use it again for the remaining rounds. Once you go through all the rounds and finish the event, you can see your total game score for that event, as well as view the weekly leaderboard to see how you rank against other players. Participate in more events to rack up points and increase your weekly leaderboard score!

NFL Rivals is said to have over 6 million players who can now experience new utility of the assets they own by jumping into this new web3 gaming experience.
