MotoGP Ignition, a blockchain management game that is a part of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem by Animoca Brands, is now officially live in closed alpha.
This early version of the browser-based game released on July 31 and requires players to have played MotoGP Ignition Champions by July 14 in order to have access to it.
The goal of this phase is to test out the core aspects of race strategy gameplay and receive constructive feedback in order to successfully continue development in the right direction. This version contains the race simulation engine as well as race tournament structures, and after this core has been thoroughly tested, the developers will then move on to creating the “support structures and features” while developing the metagame and making a proper experience for players to enjoy.
Aside from having the required prerequisite of having played MotoGP Ignition Champions beforehand and being on the allow list, playing the game requires having 4 Cards from the same team, which means you need 1 Team Card, 1 Bike Card, and 2 Rider Cards. These cards can be bought over at the MotoGP Ignition Market using REVV tokens.
According to the official article, players can earn SHRD and REVV as rewards from tournaments during this alpha, with current reward structures subject to change during and after the testing period. No fee is present for events in the closed alpha. That may change in the future though once new event structures are released.
The closed alpha will end on August 19. More details can be found here, while you can check out what the game looks like through this below video of episode 3 of the REVV Show.
