Web3 gaming ecosystem Moonveil has announced that they’ve successfully secured a strategic $5 million investment from Unicorn Verse, marking a significant milestone for the company’s mission to create a gamer-first ecosystem powered by its own full stack tech.

How Unicorn Verse’s Funding Benefits Moonveil

The $5 million strategic capital provided by Unicorn Verse will enable Moonveil to expand its offerings and enhance the player experience across its growing lineup of web3 games. By fueling long-term growth of the $MORE token economy, this investment strengthens Moonveil’s infrastructure, encouraging higher engagement and deeper community participation.

The new funds will be used for continued development of the ecosystem’s upcoming titles,  which so far seem to include Bushwhack and a number of mini-games planned to launch during the ongoing Season 2.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen significant funding injected into this blockchain gaming ecosystem. Back in 2023, Moonveil raised $5.4 million in a seed round, while last year saw the web3 gaming studio wrap up a pre-Series A funding round that increased their total funding to $9 million. With the latest investment, this means that the ecosystem has so far managed to secure around $14 million in total.

What Is Moonveil?

Founded in 2022 by industry veterans with experience at leading studios such as Riot Games and Tencent, Moonveil started as a traditional gaming studio before evolving into a full stack web3 gaming ecosystem. The studio’s vision centers on delivering high-quality, accessible games that integrate blockchain technology to enhance player autonomy and value sharing.

Moonveil’s mission is to deliver high-quality blockchain gaming experiences while enabling players to unify all their progress under their own achievement-based profile within the ecosystem that is entirely powered by a dedicated Agglayer CDK blockchain. The underlying technology backbone for Moonveil is Agglayer, a composable blockchain framework that allows for crafting highly customizable Layer 2 chains that are optimized for gaming. This infrastructure addresses persistent challenges like fragmented player identities and limited interoperability across blockchain ecosystems, making it a good fit for Moonveil’s long-term ambitions. The ecosystem’s chain is currently live in testnet as an invisible infrastructure layer that is natively connected to Agglayer “for seamless unity,” with mainnet said to be coming soon, according to an official blog post from the Agglayer team.

Among Moonveil’s flagship titles so far are the following:

  • AstrArk: A mobile tower defense game that blends strategic depth with casual gameplay mechanics.
  • Bushwhack: An upcoming stealth-focused battle royale title that is currently open for pre-registrations ahead of a potential alpha playtest that is likely set to launch at some point during Season 2.
  • Mini Games Hub: a casual mini-games ecosystem currently consisting of Puffy 2048, Puffy Match, and Puffy Miner, with more games coming soon.

A broader portfolio of games planned under the Moonveil Punch initiative aims to onboard third-party developers to expand the ecosystem’s game variety and player choice. The platform’s first third-party game is a casual mobile game called Starry Host. The game is built on the ecosystem’s own gaming stack and has you mix and match potions to progress through stages. You can play it for free on Android and iOS during the Alpha Playtest, which ends on August 27.

Moonveil’s native utility token, $MORE, which launched earlier this year, powers governance, staking, and in-game transactions, reinforcing a community-driven approach to shaping game development and ecosystem growth. The team’s focus remains on building an accessible, scalable ecosystem to enable true co-creation between players, creators, and developers.

Earn $MORE in Moonveil Season 2

Moonveil’s Season 2 kicked off on August 21 without a set end date, inviting players to jump in and start earning. To participate, head to Moonveil’s official website and log in using your email, crypto wallet, or social account like Google, Discord, X, Telegram, Apple, or Facebook.

In this ecosystem, your goal is to earn Moon Beams, the native points that can be converted into $MORE tokens at a 50:1 ratio. You accumulate Moon Beams by completing quests, playing games within the ecosystem such as AstrArk and casual mini-games while referring friends and joining lucky draws.

After setting up your account, you can get started by exploring the Loyalty Program to access the ongoing season. Season 2 features 20 different planets to unlock. Each planet lets free users claim rewards like Moon Beams, while those with a Premium Season Pass get to enjoy even more benefits. Unlocking planets requires you to complete various different tasks, allowing you to level up the Season Pass, whether at the free Standard tier or Premium level.

You can find these tasks by clicking on any planet and selecting the “Tasks” button, or through your profile in the Moon Beams section. The Quest button in the Loyalty Program dropdown menu also leads to this dashboard. Currently, tasks mostly involve social activities such as following and liking posts on X or referring friends. Completing these tasks rewards you with Moon Beams and helps level up your Season Pass. As the season progresses, gameplay-related events should be set to feature on this dashboard as well, rewarding your time spent playing ecosystem games.

As you unlock planets, you can earn badges that may be upgraded and converted into SBTs, potentially opening access to additional rewards. Some quests also award lottery tickets for the “More & $MORE Lucky Draws,” where players can win Moon Beams, USDC, $MORE tokens, badges, and other prizes.

Looking ahead, Moonveil plans to roll out a variety of community campaigns and game-specific events throughout the season, offering more chances to earn Moon Beams and other rewards. Check out our article from last week to learn more about Moonveil Season 2.
