Blockchain gaming ecosystem Moonveil has officially kicked off the Bushwhack Initial Playtest. This was previously teased to be coming during Moonveil Season 2, and web3 gamers now have the chance to try out the studio’s latest in-development flagship title for a limited time and play to earn rewards that are crucial for the platform’s ongoing second season.
What Is Bushwhack?
Bushwhack is a free to play stealth-based battle royale with top-down MOBA-style gameplay. Choose from a varied cast of unlockable heroes and engage in strategic, fast-paced PvPvE combat across vegetative environments in a surreal fantasy world as you collect resources and upgrade gear while attempting to be the last warrior standing.
As one of the flagship web3 mobile games of the Moonveil ecosystem, players can complete platform quests through gameplay to earn Moon Beams, which can be exchanged for $MORE tokens during a season. When Season 2 for the ecosystem went live, it was teased that this tactical title could potentially be playable at some point during the season, with players given the option to pre-register before the launch takes place. While the game is now indeed up and running for this season, it’s only for a limited time, meaning that you can still pre-register ahead of the game’s official launch by heading to its dedicated page on the ecosystem’s website.
In the future, the team plans on working with “renowned brands or NFTs” to give players exclusive prizes to earn during events. While the official launch date is not available at the time of writing, if you want to see what the early version of the game looks like so far, then now is the time to jump into the game’s very first public playtest and give it a go while potentially earning some rewards along the way.

How to Play to Earn in Bushwhack Initial Playtest
To play to earn in the Bushwhack Initial Playtest, simply download the mobile game on your Android or iOS device via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store respectively. Log in with the same account you’re using in the Moonveil ecosystem, and start completing quests through gameplay for free from September 25, 12 AM EST, to October 2, 12 AM EST, to earn Moon Beams, which are ecosystem points that can be converted to the platform’s $MORE token at a 50:1 ratio during Season 2.
The quests you can complete throughout this playtest include the following:
- Play 5 matches
- Collect 2,000 Runes
- Gather 300 items
- Defeat 30 NPCs
- Take down 10 Heroes
By successfully doing these gameplay-focused missions while there’s still time, you can earn varying amounts of Moon Beams. Complete as many as you can or hopefully all of them before October 2, 12 AM EST to maximize your token rewards for this current season. For this playtest, players can participate by playing through one of 2 servers: Singapore and São Paulo.
If you’re a fan of MOBAs like League of Legends, and battle royales like PUBG, you will likely enjoy participating in this free open playtest as you try your best to complete all of the available quests before this first test session is over. It’s not known if there will be another playtest for Bushwhack during Season 2, so make the most of this opportunity if you want to collect more Moon Beams to gain more, uh, $MORE tokens.
The official X post also revealed that the ecosystem’s official game nights begin this Monday, September 29, and it looks like exclusive $MORE rewards will be up for grabs, so if you want more opportunities, hop into their Discord server using the link found in the announcement below.
About Moonveil
Moonveil is a full-stack web3 gaming ecosystem and blockchain game developer that focuses on producing accessible web3-powered games.
The ecosystem operates on a dedicated blockchain built with Agglayer CDK. This framework enables the creation of customizable Layer 2 chains optimized for gaming. Moonveil’s chain is currently in testnet, functioning as a background infrastructure layer connected to Agglayer, with mainnet deployment planned. According to a blog post on Agglayer’s website, the system is designed to address issues such as fragmented player identities and limited interoperability.
Moonveil has introduced several titles so far:
- AstrArk: A mobile tower defense game combining strategy and casual mechanics.
- Bushwhack: A stealth-based battle royale currently open for pre-registrations and now live in the form of a limited time playtest with Moon Beam rewards.
- Mini Games Hub: A collection of casual titles, including Puffy 2048, Puffy Match, and Puffy Miner, with more planned.
In addition, there is also the Moonveil Punch initiative, which is designed to bring third-party developers into the ecosystem. The first partner title is Starry Host, a mobile game that was available on Android and iOS during an alpha playtest that ran until August 27.
Moonveil’s utility token, $MORE, supports governance, staking, and in-game transactions. It launched earlier this year on the BNB Chain across exchanges such as KuCoin and Bitget. Here is how you can earn it during Season 2.
How to Earn $MORE in Moonveil Season 2
Moonveil Season 2 began on August 21 and remains ongoing for an unspecified period of time. To participate, players can register on the official Moonveil website using an email address, crypto wallet, or a social sign in option.
Season 2 centers on earning Moon Beams, which convert to $MORE at a 50:1 ratio. Moon Beams can be collected by completing quests, playing games such as AstrArk and Bushwhack, referring friends, and joining prize draws.
Progression in the season is structured around a Loyalty Program featuring 20 planets. Completing tasks tied to these planets allows players to unlock rewards and level up a Season Pass. There are two tiers: a free Standard pass and a paid Premium pass, with Premium offering additional benefits.
Tasks are accessible through the Loyalty Program menu, the Moon Beams section of player profiles, or directly on each planet’s task page. Most tasks seem to be largely social so far, such as following or interacting with content on X, with the new quests related to Bushwhack seemingly the only gameplay-focused ones you can do at this point in time.
Additional features include badges that can be upgraded into soulbound tokens (SBTs) and used for further rewards. Certain quests also provide tickets for the “More & $MORE Lucky Draws,” which distribute Moon Beams, USDC, $MORE, badges, and other items.
The web3 studio has indicated that further community campaigns and game-specific events will be introduced during the course of Season 2, giving players more ways to earn within the ecosystem.
Following the launch of Season 2, Moonveil secured a $5 million strategic investment from Unicorn Verse.
