Moku has announced the start date for its upcoming Booster Box sale tied to Grand Arena, its recently revealed AI fantasy battler. The presale kicks off October 8 and will run for 1 week as a no-loss raffle. Players looking to enter Grand Arena will need cards to build their lineups, and Booster Boxes are now the primary way to get them.

This announcement comes just a week after Moku unveiled Grand Arena on September 22. The game is set to launch soon on Ronin with a $1 million prize pool.

What Is Grand Arena?

Grand Arena is Moku's new platform that mixes AI matches with daily fantasy sports. Instead of using real-world athletes, players rely on digital competitors called Mokis which are originally profile pic NFTs that now take on new roles as AI athletes. These agents run automatically in nonstop matches. Players earn rewards by collecting cards, setting lineups, and performing well on daily leaderboards.

Rewards are split into 2 main categories: mXP, which helps with progression and leaderboard climbing, and prize pool payouts. The first season is backed by $1 million, and players with high Collector Scores stand to earn the biggest share.

Why the Booster Box Sale Matters

To play Grand Arena, you'll need cards. These include Moki Cards, Schemes, and Promo cards, all of which can be found inside Booster Boxes. Each box contains 30 packs, and each pack holds 5 cards. These cards are tradable, but only become usable once Grand Arena launches.

Moku has framed the sale as the best way to get a head start. While players will be able to buy cards later on secondary markets, the Booster Boxes are set to offer higher-grade cards. That makes this presale a key event for anyone planning to grind for real in Season One.

Booster Box Sale Timeline and Structure

The Booster Box sale runs in 3 stages. The first phase is a no-loss raffle, followed by a Second Chance Shop, and finally a refund period for unused tickets.

Phase 1: No-Loss Raffle

This first stage starts on October 8 at 14:00 UTC and ends on October 14 at 17:00 UTC. During this time, players can join the raffle by depositing RON tokens on Moku's website. Each deposit earns raffle tickets. Winning tickets can be redeemed for Booster Boxes.

There are 8,887 Booster Boxes in total. Of these, 7,777 will be distributed through the raffle. Another 888 boxes will be made available in the Second Chance Shop, and 222 are reserved for the Moku team and creators.

For those who don't win in the raffle, they have 2 options: either redeem tickets in the Second Chance Shop or get a refund later on.

Phase 2: Second Chance Shop

This part opens on October 15 at 14:00 UTC and ends on October 17 at 17:00 UTC. Any unused raffle tickets can be spent here on Gacha spins. Each spin guarantees a prize, which might include Moki NFTs, Champion Slots, Gyms, and other in-game assets. One ticket equals one spin.

Phase 3: Refunds

From October 17 at 17:00 UTC to October 20 at 17:00 UTC, Moku will offer full refunds on any tickets that weren't used. Each ticket will be worth 100 RON (about $48 as of writing).

Early Bird Rewards

Players who take part in the raffle early will get extra perks. Anyone who deposits within the first 24 hours will receive entries for exclusive rewards. The first 100 depositors will be entered into a draw to win one Champion Slot and a Moki NFT. The top depositor during this period will get a guaranteed Champion Slot.

On top of that, all early participants will receive entries into a larger raffle with prizes that include 3x Champion Slots, 3x Lucky Eggs, and 3x Common Moki Eggs.

Cards, Grades, and Trading

All Grand Arena cards can be traded once the game launches. But Moku notes that cards come in different grades. Higher-grade cards will likely have more power or value, and the Booster Boxes are positioned as the main way to get these top-tier cards. While secondary market options will exist, they may not offer the same quality, according to the team.

Role of Moki NFTs

Moki NFTs, first released as collectible PFPs, are now taking on new roles as AI athletes in Grand Arena. These digital agents are central to every match. If you own a Moki, you'll get extra mXP and rewards when it competes. Mokis also earn royalties whenever they appear as champions in the game, and their stats improve across seasons.

There are only 8,888 Moki NFTs, all originally minted through a no-loss raffle that brought in over $10 million worth of RON in deposits. Moki owners are given added roles in the Grand Arena system through champion selections and gameplay bonuses.

Grand Arena's Core Systems

In Grand Arena, players compete in daily contests by setting lineups made up of cards. Points are awarded based on how well each lineup performs in ongoing AI battles. The more points a player gets, the higher they climb the leaderboard, which improves their payout share.

Guild and referral features, tied to in-game items like Gyms, are planned for release later. These will give more players a way to earn rewards, even if they don't own a Moki.

What Comes Next

Season One is still in the works, with Moku yet to announce the official launch date. Until then, the focus is on the Booster Box raffle. Players hoping to build competitive lineups or hold high-grade cards may need to take part in this presale to get prepared.
