The Mines of Dalarnia team has announced a new idle game coming as part of the upcoming Terraformed Update to the blockchain mining title: Modbots.

What Is Modbots?

Modbots is a new idle game set within the main action-adventure Web3 title. It’s set to be included in the Terraformed Update, and according to the announcement, will give players “the chance to increase their DAR tokens.”

The goal of this game is to collect Moon Chips using automated robots called Minerbots. You’ll have to defend these bots from various types of Storms. To do this, you will need Defendbots. As they weather these hazards, they will have to be repaired over time in order to be able to continue protecting your miners, requiring you to get Repairbots to do the fixing.

There will be multiple seasons to compete in, with each season having its own prize pool. Players will be rewarded depending on the number of Moon Chips gathered and the total amount of Moon Chips collected by everyone.

How to Access

According to the official post, everyone interested in playing Modbots will need “a few resources per month” and account level 5. Players will have to sign up to the season they want to participate in by confirming transactions. The developers reveal that Modbots acts as their first 100% on-chain feature. It uses Chromia’s blockchain tech for the game logic, but from the player’s side, you’ll be doing things as usual through the BNB Chain. What should be different however are the gas fees, with the approach said to significantly lower these fees for a more accessible experience, without needing to bridge your resources or tokens either.
