Mighty Action Heroes developer Mighty Bear Games has introduced The Genesis GOATs NFT Collection for their recently launched multi-chain ecosystem, GOAT Gaming.
Genesis GOATs will be 3333 PFPs that represent the platform’s premium NFTs. As such, holders will be able to gain various rewards from the ecosystem, including an airdrop of the upcoming $GOAT token alongside milestone-based rewards and bonuses that come from the success of all the studio’s infrastructure, AI tooling and games part of this play and earn platform.
This means that the Web3 company is transitioning from its current NFTs and consolidating its efforts into the upcoming collection. Among the reasons for doing so is to simplify the user experience for newcomers, because the current Mighty Bear Games NFT ecosystem has confused interested buyers as to which asset to actually buy, “leading to fragmented liquidity and a 2-tier system.” The rebrand from MightyNet to GOAT Gaming also makes it important to have assets that have the new branding instead of the old one, simplifying onboarding into the ecosystem and thus increasing its potential for significant growth.
Holders of existing NFTs from Mighty Bear Games are not being left in the shadows; in fact, the developer is looking to reward its loyal community, and has been planning to for a while as they’ve taken many snapshots in order to reward existing Big Bear Syndicate and MightyNet Genesis Pass holders with a bonus $GOAT token airdrop. This bonus varies based on the owner’s “ongoing support over the years” as well as on the amount of time they held the eligible NFT.
That’s not all though – if you meet certain requirements, you’ll be able to get a free claim of the upcoming PFP. The total supply of GOAT PFPs is 3333, meaning that the total number of NFTs from the ecosystem has been reduced from 6337 (5000 BBS + 1337 MNGP) to 3333. While the chain hasn't been mentioned and the mint price and date are yet to be determined, what is known is that the supply is divided to accommodate those whitelisted for the mint, and those eligible for the free claim. Details on getting whtielisted are not yet available, but one of the ways that seem to be known so far is through a specific Discord role bought using points in the ecosystem's official Discord server. Users earn points called Horns by claiming daily chests in the server, with the chests containing varying amounts of Horns depending on the rarity of the chest.
If you’re an existing MightyNet Genesis Pass holder, you will be able to mint 1 Genesis GOAT for free at a 1:1 ratio, so if you own multiple MightyNet Genesis Passes, you can mint the same number of GOATs as the amount of Passes you currently own.
Things are somewhat different for Big Bear Syndicate owners though. According to the announcement, the migration for BBS holders works the following way:
If you’re not sure about the rarity of your assets, the team has clarified that Common NFTs have a static background, while Rare NFTs have a video background that includes either Kurt’s Kingdom, Smell of Victory or Cityscape. Legendary assets specifically have the “Thunderstruck” video background.
To prepare for this transition, a final snapshot of Big Bear Syndicate and MightyNet Genesis Pass holders will be taken on July 26th. On the same day, these NFTs will be locked from trading, becoming soulbound NFTs to prevent anyone from accidentally buying then valueless assets after the last snapshot. While these NFTs from thereon won’t have any new utility, the developers will still be able to see who the OG wallets actually are, which will be immensely useful in awarding loyal holders with retroactive rewards, making it another good reason to turn them into soulbound assets. The final reason stated by the developers for their decision to lock instead of burn NFTs is so that they can allow “anyone attached to the art and meaning of the NFT to hold onto it,” which is a nice gesture that still accomplishes the ultimate plan, and that is to discontinue the utility of old NFTs while successfully migrating to the new ones.
If you’re among the “smaller” holders in the community who don’t meet the outlined mint requirements, then there are other options you can look forward to that you may potentially like. Among them is a raffle system for holders who have less than 6 Common Big Bear Syndicates. A Common BBS gives a 16.67% of winning a Genesis GOAT NFT, so having up to 5 for the raffle will give you better chances.
Participants who don’t win the raffle will be given a consolation $GOAT drop at TGE, and there will also be community-based nominations where users can nominate themselves or others by filling out a form linked in the announcement. This must be done before mint, with the team reviewing nominations based on “merit, active past participation as a community member, or long term Big Bear Syndicate holder.” Those who are selected will get either a free mint or a guaranteed mint, though the team states that “no promises can be made.”
“This plan is a result of extensive consultations with our community. We have carefully considered feedback and data, ensuring our approach aligns with the interests and aspirations of our members. Our goal is to foster a unified, vibrant community under the GOAT Gaming brand where loyalty is valued and rewarded.
Thank you for being part of our journey. LFGOAT!!!”
