Developer Studio 369 and publisher MetalCore United, in partnership with Immutable and Horizon Labs Ventures, have announced the successful closing of a new funding round in which they raised $5 million from the likes of Delphi Digital and BITKRAFT Ventures for their free-to-play blockchain MMO shooter, MetalCore.
The significant new funds will be used to further support the game’s development, with the announcement teasing that the “battlefield is about to get more explosive, on a scale that you cannot prepare for.”
Next to Delphi Digital and BITKRAFT Ventures, the following investors also contributed to this new round: The Spartan Group, Horizon Labs Adventures, Sanctor Capital, Citizen Capital, King River, Grail Capital, Arrington Capital, Amber Group, AI video listening tool Aggero, Spirit DAO, Zeneca, Sonic Boom Ventures, Auros, LiquidX, Cogitent Ventures, Fatcats, Rarestone and EllioTrades.
MetalCore is an upcoming free-to-play sci-fi PvPvE Web3 shooter in development on Unreal Engine 4 while using Immutable for the blockchain side of things after forming a partnership last year. It’s currently in closed beta and playable during playtests hosted at certain times, and anyone interested in participating can pre-register on the game’s official website. By doing so, you will be able to claim a free vehicle once the game enters open beta, which is planned to happen by the end of this year. Last year it got listed on the Epic Games Store as an early access title, and when it does eventually launch on Windows PCs, players will be able to enjoy it as a traditional free-to-play title featuring varied action-packed territorial battles.
