The holiday season has arrived in Off The Grid, with the game's Killmas event now live on Teardrop Island. As of December 23, snowfall covers the map, event challenges are active, and new seasonal loot is available for a limited time. The event runs through January 12.
The update follows the game's December patch, which introduced Ranked Mode, Legendary Cyberlimbs, and major changes to extraction and loot systems. Killmas builds on that update with temporary content tied to gameplay, progression, and community activity.
Off The Grid Killmas Event Brings Holiday Update to Teardrop Island
One of the main activities in the event is the stocking scavenger hunt. A total of 10 stockings are hidden throughout Teardrop Island. Players who manage to find all of them will unlock the Gold Boot reward.
This objective is available throughout the event and ties directly into the updated map layout. Visual effects such as falling snow and themed loot containers are present across the island. This task encourages movement across the map and rewards thorough exploration during casual or ranked play.
New Community Challenges
Along with the in-game content, Off The Grid is also running community events on its official Discord. These are tied to the new set of Christmas Combat DJ Tracks. 6 exclusive music tracks can be unlocked by completing event wins.
The track rewards are split across 3 tiers. One win unlocks two tracks, two wins unlock four, and three wins grant the full six. These tracks are only available through the event and cannot be unlocked by other means.
A Christmas Sweater cosmetic is also being distributed separately through community-driven tasks. These challenges are being managed by Aleksa, the game's Community Manager. Players are advised to follow event updates and announcements next month to take part in these limited-time tasks.
Twitch Drops Active During Holiday Event
Twitch Drops are enabled during the Killmas event, offering players another route to unlock themed rewards. Viewers who tune into any participating Off The Grid streamer will receive the following items based on watch time:
- 30 minutes: Christmas profile picture
- 1 hour: Xmas HEX
- 2 hours: Christmas Beret
There's also an option to claim the Christmas Sweater through Twitch by supporting a creator. This reward becomes available to anyone who purchases a recurring or gift subscription to a streamer in the Off The Grid category. All Twitch-based rewards are time-locked to the event's duration.
Tickets and Event Currency Guide
A new seasonal currency, Tickets, has been introduced for Killmas. These can be earned in 3 ways: logging in on specific days, completing daily challenges, or playing standard matches.
Tickets can then be used in the event menu to buy seasonal rewards. They expire at the end of the event on January 12 and cannot be carried forward. Players who earn them during the event must use them before that deadline.
Unlike some in-game currencies, there is no cap on how many Tickets a player can earn. The amount is based entirely on player activity throughout the event window.
Xmas HEXes Available Through Multiple Channels
Xmas HEXes are part of the event and contain holiday-themed cosmetic items, including animated weapon skins. All items are limited-time and tied to the duration of the event.
Players can obtain Xmas HEXes in a few ways. These include rare drops during matches via Teardrop looting, or by converting 5 blue-tier items using the in-game item conversion feature, which offers a 60% chance to obtain a Xmas HEX.
Xmas HEXes can also be purchased, but only through the testnet. This option is available via the Xmas Event Widget in the lobby, using either GUN or Tickets. Ticket prices are fixed, while GUN prices increase with each purchase and reset every 24 hours. Both purchase paths are separate.
Integration With Ranked Protocol
Killmas is the first seasonal event to run on top of the new Ranked Protocol update, which launched on December 13. That patch introduced competitive ranked play, new economy systems, and item conversion features.
Ranked Mode separates casual and competitive play by adding rank point entry fees and reward-based progression. Killmas content can be accessed in both ranked and casual modes, though the way players progress or earn items may vary depending on match rules.
The item conversion system, which allows players to destroy old gear to earn new HEXes, is also active during Killmas. Players can use this method to try generate a Xmas HEX using spare blue-tier items. This conversion option is only available for the event duration.
Changes to Teardrop Island Affect Event Flow
Teardrop Island continues to evolve. With the latest patch, the city of Little Kyiv has received major updates, and gameplay systems tied to extraction, loot zones, and redeployment have shifted.
During the Killmas event, players may notice how NPC density and drop pod changes influence scavenger hunts or reward collection. The number of drop pods has been increased, NPC groups have been expanded, and high-tier loot zones now include turrets and flares.
These changes can impact how easy it is to complete event tasks such as finding stockings, extracting rewards, or surviving long enough to complete daily challenges.
Limited-Time Window and Reward Expiry
The Killmas event in OTG runs until January 12. After that date, all event content will be disabled.
Any unused Tickets will expire once the event ends and can no longer be spent. Players are advised to use them before the deadline.
There are no level or rank requirements to take part in Killmas. All players can access the event regardless of their progression in ranked or casual play.
