MARS4, a real-life Web3 simulator featuring a detailed 3D map of Mars’ terrain modeled after NASA data, has been officially listed on the Epic Games Store, and will be released on the platform sometime during November this year.
Having the game listed on the Fortnite creator’s store is sure to help with gaining visibility among traditional gamers looking for an interesting simulation-based title to jump into. By being listed weeks ahead of releasing on there, there’s a decent amount of time to collect wishlists and give gamers time to find the game on the store. Time will tell how many users will be interested in jumping into a Web3-based space sim.
While this marks the first listing of the play-to-earn community-driven metaverse on a major traditional storefront, it isn’t the first time it’s made way to a platform for PC games. Previously, it launched on the crypto-based gaming platform, Ultra, as part of the marketplace’s official launch where around 60-70 Web3 and Web2 games were available from the get go.
Other than the November timeframe, no specific release date seems to be available at the time of writing. In the meantime however, you can already enjoy the blockchain title on Windows and Mac by downloading it through the game’s official website.
Earlier this month, NEXUS, a third-person shooter MOBA, launched on the Epic Games Store with a $15k competition.
