LINE Studio, a casual game developer on the global mobile platform LINE, is bringing its popular gaming IPs to The Sandbox realm. Users can expect to see its fan-favorite games and characters making a debut in the metaverse soon.
Notably, LINE Studio will build a LINE-themed area in K-verse - a dedicated space for all Korean entertainment content in The Sandbox. Not only will users get to play its popular titles, such as LINE Rangers and LINE CHEF, but they can also look forward to acquiring voxelized NFTs based on its mobile games.
Commenting on the exciting partnership, Cindy Lee, CEO of The Sandbox Korea, said: "This collaboration provides a new opportunity for users to meet the globally beloved games and characters of LINE Studio in the metaverse."
"Together with The Sandbox, we will give fun and guide the new ways to enjoy games with diverse content on the metaverse beyond existing game platforms," said Jeongweon Lee, CEO of LINE Studio.
Of course, this is not the first time that the Japanese messaging app LINE Corporation has ventured into Web3. Earlier this year, the company launched LINE NFT - an NFT marketplace available in Japan, before introducing DOSI - another NFT platform available across 180 countries, in September. In August, its blockchain gaming unit - LINE Games - announced the completion of $10.8 million in funding to onboard Web2 games into the Web3 ecosystem.
With the company's immense interest in Web3, its latest move into The Sandbox should not come as a surprise. After all, who doesn't love making a mark in virtual Manhattan?
Though LINE Studio hasn't set an exact date to release its virtual experience, fans can keep their eyes peeled by following the project's socials.
