LINE NEXT, a division of LINE focused on expanding web3 technology, has launched Mini Dapps and the Dapp Portal directly on LINE Messenger. This new feature allows users to access decentralized applications (Dapps) without downloading separate apps, making blockchain technology more accessible and integrated into everyday life.

What Are Mini Dapps?

Mini Dapps are lightweight blockchain applications available within LINE Messenger. Users can interact with them for gaming, social media, content, and more—all through the Dapp Portal Official Account. These Dapps are supported by an in-app wallet, enabling users to trade virtual assets, collect rewards, and even buy or sell NFTs directly in the app.

A Strong Start with 32 Dapps

LINE NEXT has rolled out 32 Mini Dapps as part of its launch, with plans to expand to over 1,000 projects by the end of 2025. These Dapps were developed under the Kaia Wave program, a collaboration between LINE NEXT and the Kaia Foundation to support Web3 developers.

Notable Dapps in the initial batch include:

  • Bombie and Cattea: These games by Pluto Studio have already drawn over 43 million users and achieved top sales in other markets.
  • Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-: Based on the popular soccer manga, this game brings nostalgia and blockchain gaming together.
  • Superz: A wellness Dapp designed for non-crypto users, blending fitness tracking with tangible rewards.

These Dapps highlight the range of experiences available, from gaming to health-focused applications, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Aiming for Accessibility

LINE NEXT’s CEO, Youngsu Ko, emphasized the importance of accessibility in Web3 adoption. By integrating Mini Dapps into LINE Messenger, the company hopes to make blockchain services part of daily life for millions of users.

“A true popularization of Web3 services depends on their accessibility and usability,” said Ko. “Mini Dapps on LINE Messenger will set a new benchmark for web3 adoption, especially in Asia.”

Dr. Sam Seo, Chairman of the Kaia DLT Foundation, added that Kaia would continue to provide reliable and scalable blockchain solutions to support LINE NEXT and its partners.
