WEMADE has announced that the first-ever YMIR Cup World Championship will take place from February 28 to March 1, 2026. The tournament will be held at Razer's Southeast Asia headquarters in Singapore, marking the start of what the firm describes as a global esports initiative for Legend of YMIR.
This is the first global tournament for the game since its launch. The event also marks a continuation of WEMADE's partnership with Razer, following their in-game promotion during Season 1.
The YMIR Cup Format and Prize Details
The tournament spans 2 days and will be broadcast live across YouTube, Twitch, Facebook Gaming, and Bilibili. According to the official post, players will be selected through YMIR Cup Online League Matches, which run from December 26, 2025, through February 6, 2026.
Those selected will be flown to Singapore to compete in person using Razer's latest esports gear. These include the DeathAdder V4 Pro mouse, Huntsman V3 Pro keyboard, and BlackShark V3 Pro headset. All matches will be played on-site at Razer's SEA HQ.
The winning team will get the Global Championship Server title. As a bonus, they'll also participate in a special Legend Match against Korea's top 3 Beowulf clans: 'King the Land', 'King the World', and 'Saekom', who placed 1st to 3rd in the second YMIR Cup held in Korea last month.
Expansion Plans After the Championship
WEMADE has stated that this event is just the beginning. After the 2026 championship wraps up, the company plans to grow the YMIR Cup into a large-scale league.
Kisung Kim, a division head at WEMADE, said the team is encouraged by how much activity they've seen from the community through the Partner's Server system and server-vs-server battles. He added that the tournament will create a place where skilled players from around the world can compete under one roof.
"Through the active participation in the Partner's Server system and the intense competition showcased in server battles, we have seen the 'Legend of YMIR' community continue to grow steadily. We hope this momentum carries forward through the 'YMIR Cup World Championship', and together with Razer, we will create an environment where players from around the world can fully showcase their skills."
Season 1 Kicked Off in November
The global tournament arrives shortly after the launch of Season 1, which went live on November 25 and runs until December 30. This seasonal update introduced a long list of new systems, events, bosses, and PvP features to the blockchain-powered MMORPG.
Titled the Season of Growth, Season 1 revolves around a new progression mechanic called Origin of Growth. Players gain points by clearing seasonal content and use these to unlock buffs like Blessing of Growth and Blessing of Leap. These buffs improve experience gain and item drop rates across the game.
New content called Season Valhalla was also added. This map contains the Hall of Growth, where players can farm seasonal drops at an accelerated rate. Access is limited to one hour per day unless extended using a recharge item.
The Season Expedition event features a daily Kobold King raid where players defend the Tree of Life from waves of enemies. Entry is restricted to once per day and depends on the player's level and progress in the season.
New Bosses, New Gear, New Systems
Season 1 also added seasonal world bosses, like the Golden Giant Baldergrud, which spawns in select areas of Asgard. Defeating him can grant limited-edition items that increase a player's Origin of Growth.
Several new items were introduced, including the Megingjord belt, Valkyrie's Grail, and Necklace of Growth. These can be enhanced and registered in seasonal collections for permanent stat bonuses even after the season ends.
Other new additions include Season Story quests that unlock at level 40, seasonal achievements, new directives, and collection systems that reward gear and stat upgrades.
Server Battle PvP Mode Now Live
A major addition to the game is the new large-scale PvP mode called Server Battle. This feature runs every Tuesday night and is only open to characters that meet 2 conditions: level 40 or higher and a top-500 ranking in Inter Server Growth Power.
Winning Server Battle earns a clan leader the title of Conqueror for the week. The title comes with wide-reaching benefits such as server-wide announcements, exclusive buffs, field boss controls, and access to limited shops.
Each Monday, the highest-ranked player on each server also receives the Champion title.
Razer Collab Deepens
The upcoming tournament builds directly on WEMADE's recent collab with Razer. During Season 1, the game launched two Razer-themed promotional bundles (Razer Gold: Ascension Edition and Razer Silver: Essence Edition). These packs included exclusive Disir companions and other seasonal content.
Players could buy the bundles through the Razer Gold store. All items tied into the season's fast-paced leveling system, offering a boost to both returning and new players.
Recent Backlash From the Community
While the tournament may be a milestone for the game's future, not all players are celebrating. Storming, the founder of the well-known Tempest Guild, announced last week that he's considering stepping away from Legend of YMIR.
Posting on X, he cited multiple reasons. He said that WEMADE changed the rules for the server auction shortly after launch, lacked transparency in creator contracts, and pulled real-money prizes from the COPA Ymir tournament in favor of in-game diamonds.
He also criticized the company for poor planning, saying that server deals offered to streamers have now been rolled back due to low revenue. According to him, the SSS creator program has become a basic cashback system with no support for creators.
Storming also revealed that Tempest's server generated over $500,000 in revenue, but said WEMADE changed the revenue-sharing terms unilaterally. He described his recent experience with the company's support team as nearly non-existent and said his content submissions were rejected for vague reasons.
He closed his post by saying that he plans to monitor the situation from a distance rather than continue playing actively for now.
What Legend of YMIR Offers as a Game
Legend of YMIR is a Norse-themed MMORPG that combines traditional systems with web3 infrastructure through the Wemix blockchain. It was launched globally in October 2025 and supports large-scale battles, cross-server content, and item enhancement systems tied to companions and Valkyries.
Players can take part in boss raids, clan warfare, and regional PvP events. Though blockchain features like tokenization and trading exist, they're optional and not required for core gameplay.
The game is free to play and available through its official launcher on PC, as well as mobile platforms via Google Play and the Apple App Store.
