Last Odyssey, a blockchain-powered MMORTS game, has opened its Open Beta Test 2.0, with servers set to go live October 16, 8:00 AM UTC. This new update introduces the large-scale Sanctuary War map, expanded alliance systems, and a competitive season filled with token and NFT rewards from Last Odyssey and collaboration partners.

Available now on Android and iOS TestFlight. With no data wipe this time around, all progress made during the test will carry over.

What Is Last Odyssey?

Last Odyssey is a free to play mobile strategy game that combines classic MMORTS gameplay with blockchain tech to create a true 5X experience: eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate, and eXchange.

Built on the Ronin Network, the game takes place in the continent of Middangeard, a massive fantasy world where players build kingdoms, gather resources, summon heroes, and wage war for control of territory. Developed by the studio behind Legend of Arcadia, and backed by Animoca Brands, OKX Ventures, and Everest Ventures Group, Last Odyssey has already attracted thousands of players since its April 2025 soft launch, rewarding them with token airdrops and NFT prizes through competitive play.

Last Odyssey Open Beta 2.0

What's Coming in Open Beta Test 2.0?

The new test will run from October 16 to December 11, giving players nearly 2 months to fight, conquer, and earn token rewards across a fully updated map.

The main update is Sanctuary War, a new on-chain map that introduces 96 strategic Sanctuaries placed across Middangeard. These Sanctuaries are special landmarks that alliances can capture and control to gain $ODY tokens, powerful buffs, and in some cases, exclusive NFT and token rewards from partner projects.

Holding a Sanctuary isn't just about earning tokens. It also gives your alliance control over key choke points, Passes, and access routes to other high-value targets like Fortresses and the Throne.

How the New Point System Works

Progress during OBT 2.0 is tracked by 3 types of points:

  • Combat Points (CP): Earned by completing daily missions and challenges.
  • Alliance Points (AP): Gained every time a player uses CP to spin the Wheel of Fortune. These points affect your alliance's final reward buff.
  • Sanctuary Points (SP): Collected over time by holding Sanctuaries. These determine the base reward your alliance earns.

Final $ODY rewards are based on your total Sanctuary Points, plus any bonus % from your Alliance Buff, which is tied to AP.

Wheel of Fortune

Mightiest Commander Event: Your Main CP Source

Every day in Last Odyssey, players can join the Mightiest Commander Event (MCE) to earn Combat Points (CP) through rotating challenges. Each day has a different focus, from training troops to conquering Carcosa Camps. You earn Combat Points (CP) by completing these tasks, which you can then spend on the Wheel of Fortune for rewards.

Here's the 7-day cycle:

  • Day 1: Train troops
  • Day 2: Defeat Carcosa units
  • Day 3: Beat enemy troops in field battles
  • Day 4: Gather from Gold Mines
  • Day 5: Take down Carcosa Camps
  • Day 6: Use Speedups
  • Day 7: All six tasks become active

The more you complete, the more CP you earn, and the better your rewards.

Spin the Wheel to Support Your Alliance

Spending CP on the Wheel of Fortune also gives you a chance to win rare items, boost items, hero upgrades, and other in-game resources. Each spin also gives 1 AP to your alliance, helping them climb the Alliance Points Leaderboard and unlocking buffs on top of your base rewards.

Top-ranking alliances can earn up to a 100% bonus on their $ODY rewards, capped depending on placement. The higher your alliance's AP ranking, the better your total payout; and the more you personally contributed, the bigger your share.

Capture Sanctuaries to Earn $ODY

There are 96 Sanctuaries scattered across the map. Each one generates Sanctuary Points (SP) over time once your alliance holds it:

  • Level 1 Sanctuary: +1 SP per hour
  • Level 2 Sanctuary: +2 SP per hour

The longer you hold a Sanctuary, the more SP you get, and the higher you climb the SP leaderboard. At the end of the season, alliances ranked in the top 10 by SP will split a large pool of base $ODY tokens, with the 1st-place team earning up to 200,000 $ODY.

3 Types of Sanctuary Rewards

Each Sanctuary offers 3 kinds of rewards:

1. First-Occupation Reward

The first alliance to capture a Sanctuary receives exclusive rewards from project partners. These include:

More prizes will be revealed as new partners join the battlefield.

2. Universal Reward

Every time a Sanctuary changes hands, all players on the server can claim a Universal Reward through a redeem code. These rewards vary but often include valuable in-game resources and are free to all.

3. Duration Reward

At the end of the season, the alliance leader who held each Sanctuary the longest will receive a prestigious Duration Reward. These are rare and valuable, and often include $ODY token payouts. Unlike the Universal Reward, the Duration Reward is given only to the alliance leader.

Sanctuary NFT

Sanctuary NFTs: Your Own Billboard on the Map

Each of the 96 Sanctuaries is linked to a unique ERC-721 Sanctuary NFT. These can't be bought or sold, and are only given to registered partners or Ambassadors called Warlords.

Owning a Sanctuary NFT gives you:

  • A permanent billboard slot on the map where your logo, visuals, and social links are always visible
  • Control over the Sanctuary's visual presence regardless of who holds it
  • Access to weekly exclusive chest rewards with randomized loot
  • Double in-game token rewards for alliances that occupy NFT-activated Sanctuaries

This makes Sanctuary NFTs one of the most valuable assets in Last Odyssey right now.

The Sanctuary Puzzle Event: A Bonus Challenge

There’s also a Sanctuary Puzzle event happening during OBT 2.0. When an alliance becomes the first to occupy a Sanctuary, its members unlock a non-tradable Soulbound Token (SBT), which acts as a puzzle piece.

Once all 96 pieces are minted, they'll reveal a hidden image of an Awakened Hero, and the top 10 fastest minters per piece will earn whitelist slots for exclusive NFT minting in the upcoming OBT 3.0.
