The developers of L3E7, a 3D location-based service (LBS) blockchain game, have officially announced that they have successfully secured a grant from the Arbitrum Foundation.
How Arbitrum Foundation’s Grant Benefits L3E7
While the specifics of this grant seem to be unknown, securing one is certainly to benefit the team behind this cyberpunk metaverse to continue building a fun web3 gaming experience on the Arbitrum network. By supporting the project, the chain may also benefit in the long run, as grants such as these can help projects make engaging experiences that lead to driving overall ecosystem growth.
“With their support, we're building the next-generation LBS open-world RPG, combining real-world exploration, anime-inspired storytelling, and on-chain player ownership — all running on Arbitrum's high-performance network.”
The official X announcement also notes that the layer 2 chain has a "thriving community” for anime games, and that it is quickly becoming the hub for anime projects in the blockchain world. They also mention the benefits of building in this ecosystem, which include super fast blocktimes of 0.25s, as well as low gas fees that go under $0.01 per transaction.
The exact details on the number of tokens and milestones involved however are unclear. Looking at the available grant programs from the foundation though, this grant is certainly from their Gaming Catalyst Program (GCP), managed by the ArbitrumDAO as an initiative focused on supporting and incentivizing developers of gaming projects and infrastructure to build within this chain’s ecosystem. The program’s official page does not give out any particular funding range, nor does the application form offer any hint either. Projects in varying stages, whether as just an idea, a prototype/MVP, in beta testing, already launched with active users, or some other stage, are free to apply to the program. The program provides multiple different types of support as well, so next to grants, applicants could instead opt for investment, technical support, marketing & community support, ecosystem partnerships, and possibly more.
If you’re building on Arbitrum or are planning on doing so, then you may want to try sending in your submission to the relevant program for a chance at securing your grant. You can check out the list of currently active programs in the grant section of the foundation’s official website. Next to the GCP, the other grant programs available at the time of writing include the Arbitrum DAO Grant Program and the Alchemy-Arbitrum Grant Program. The former one provides funding based on milestones, with grants geared towards projects that can help bring growth to Arbitrum chains. As for the latter, that one is managed by Alchemy and provides up to $500k in Alchemy infrastructure credits for developers looking to build or migrate to Orbit-based rollups.

About L3E7
L3E7 is an anime-themed metaverse described as being the world’s first 3D LBS game, as it recreates Earth into a cyberpunk virtual world in which players battle in out in third-person action RPG gameplay. Choose from various anime characters and navigate a Google-based map in the City Retake Operation mode to find 3D battles to jump into and earn rewards in.
Last month, the developers kicked off the L3E7 Mobile Vanguard Test, giving eligible players with an access code about 10 days to play and potentially earn rewards in, including NFTs as leaderboard prizes for the top 20 players, but also Stardust through gameplay. Stardust is a reward that players can convert into the upcoming $L3E7 token, for which there is no TGE date yet, so there may still be more playtests to play to airdrop in. Those who participated in this last playtest were able to do so on Windows and Mac via HyperPlay, but also on Android devices via a direct download from the game’s official website. Participants however needed to have an access code that was given away through giveaways and to all Worlds and Guardians NFT holders who were included in a holder snapshot. The playtest ended on April 3rd, with players receiving a full refund of purchases made during the test.
In other Arbitrum-related news, last month saw TRALA partner with Arbitrum to launch the web3 version of Game of Dice. Earlier this year, Sanko received an Arbitrum grant to deliver AI-powered UGC tools, while Tarta Games secured an Arbitrum Foundation grant for Spot Zero development.
