Pets Arrive in Immortal Rising 2
The Pet System is now live in Immortal Rising 2. The update lets players add companions that follow their Immortal, provide combat stats, and open up new progression routes inside the AFK action RPG.
The feature was one of the most requested additions from the community, and it slots into the game's combat as a fresh layer rather than a side activity. Pets fight alongside players during the idle and active combat loops, giving builds another way to scale power.
The companions ship as part of a wider June update that also includes a seasonal Picnic Event, a shop update, and a round of bug fixes. A new lineup of limited-time packages launched alongside the content, offering resources that speed up Greater Rift progression, Arcane Stone upgrades, and the new pet system itself.
What the June Update Adds
The Picnic Event is the seasonal centerpiece of the release. It keeps the live-service calendar moving with time-limited content and rewards designed to pull players back into daily sessions. The event sits next to the pet rollout as the headline reasons to log in this cycle.
The shop update refreshes what players can buy and how they spend, while the bug fixes tidy up existing systems. The time-sensitive bundles act as the monetization layer of the patch, packaging growth materials for players chasing higher tiers of progression. Together, the additions follow the studio's pattern of pairing new mechanics with seasonal hooks and store changes in a single drop.
This release also continues a roadmap the team laid out in a developer letter back in January 2026. That letter teased a full skill system overhaul, a revamped guide quest flow, a new Earth attribute for build variety, and higher grade U5 and U6 Arcane Stones. The pet system was named in that same plan, framing the June content as part of a longer push to deepen core systems rather than just stack on extras.
Inside Immortal Rising 2
Immortal Rising 2 is an idle action RPG where players take the role of Immortals battling against the Seven Demons. The web3 title blends AFK and active combat, so progress continues while players are away but rewards deeper engagement during hands-on sessions. Character growth runs across dungeons, gear enhancements, and a skill tree the developers say carries over 10 million possible combinations.
The future-of-play title leans on stylish real-time combat rendered in full 3D, with competitive guild wars layered on top of the solo grind. New companions now factor into that mix, giving the combat system an extra axis to build around as players push through stages, arenas, and rift content.
The game is the sequel to the original Immortal Rising, a web2 idle RPG that drew more than 2 million downloads and around 12 million USD in revenue. That history gave the follow-up a built-in audience as it moved into onchain territory. Immortal Rising 2 is developed by Planetarium Labs and Busy Beans Studio, with backing from Animoca Brands, and runs on Immutable zkEVM. Players can download it on the Google Play Store and the App Store.
The IMT and Starlight Economy
The economic model in this play-to-earn RPG centers on the IMT token and the in-game resource Starlight, which work together to turn gameplay achievements into value. The IMT token launched in March 2025, giving players an asset to trade, stake, and use across the ecosystem. Holders can vote on major policies, with IMT supply unlocking over a four-year schedule that can shift based on community governance.
Starlight followed in April 2025 and completed the core economic loop alongside IMT and ORB. The currency connects to IMT through a conversion system tied to linked Immutable Passport accounts, with dynamic rates influenced by market conditions and both individual and global limits to keep the economy balanced. Players can stake Starlight in the Star Vault system to earn combat power and HP buffs, with vault levels rising as more Starlight is used and unlocking progressively higher rewards.
Starlight can also be earned through Arena, Stage, and Scarecrow ranking systems, then spent in the Starlight Shop for Stardust and other items. Stardust itself is the currency used for crafting U-grade gear and accessing premium shops. Conversion from Starlight to Stardust runs at a fixed 1 to 1 rate and cannot be reversed once made. The new limited-time packages plug directly into this loop, offering shortcuts for players who want to fast-track Arcane Stone upgrades and rift runs rather than grind them out.
Why the Update Matters
The pet rollout closes a gap that players had been asking about for some time, and it does so while the game tightens its broader systems. Companions that grant combat stats give the onchain RPG another progression hook, which matters in a title built on layered growth across skills, gear, and currencies. Adding a new vector for power scaling can reshape how players spend resources and which content they prioritize.
The seasonal Picnic Event and refreshed shop keep the engagement loop active for both idle and competitive players. By bundling new mechanics with a live event and a store update in one patch, the team signals a steady content cadence rather than a one-off drop. That rhythm has defined the game since its onchain launch, from the Starlight economy in April 2025 through the early-2026 roadmap that set up this release.
For the player-driven economy, the new packages and pet progression feed back into IMT and Starlight demand. More systems to grow means more reasons to convert, stake, and spend, which is the engine the developers have been building toward across each update.
What Comes Next
The June content is one step in a roadmap the studio framed around foundational upgrades, including the skill system renewal, the Earth attribute, and expanded high-tier materials teased in the January 2026 developer letter. With pets now in players' hands, attention turns to those deeper combat and progression reworks still on the schedule.
The team has kept its update flow tied to seasonal events and economy expansions, and the latest drop holds to that approach. Players can jump into the Picnic Event, pair their Immortal with a new companion, and chase the limited-time packages while the next wave of core changes moves through development.
