Immutable zkEVM-powered AFK action RPG Immortal Rising 2 (IR2) is now officially live for everyone to enjoy as a free to play blockchain title on Android and iOS via the Play Store and App Store respectively. To celebrate this grand launch, developers Planetarium Labs and Bad Beans are running 4 limited time events, one of which not only rewards the community with the game’s Gems currency, but also with ORB, which serves as ‘early access’ to the upcoming $IMT token that will power this sequel to the traditional web2 mobile RPG which garnered over 2 million downloads.
Web3 gamers can take part in 4 different launch events across Discord, X, and the game itself.
The game event one is pretty simple and comes with 2 special rewards: Gems and ORB. To get 10,000 Gems, all you have to do is download the game before September 19th, 05:00 UTC. In order to get 1000 ORB, you will need to connect your User ID (UID) to the Immortal Vault quest platform, with the UID visible in-game after you login. By creating an account on the game’s official website, you gain access to the Immortal Vault. Getting this extra ORB also comes with the same deadline as with Gems, so you’ll want to do this soon in order to continue stacking up more ORB before the $IMT token goes live, as ORB will determine your airdrop allocation of the governance token. Players can also complete social missions to earn more ORB on the game’s official website, with the option to earn from referrals available as well.
The other events take place outside the web3 game itself and award Gems only, though one of them is gameplay related, and that is the Twitter/X event. Gems serve as an important currency for getting strong gear. 50 players could get 22,000 Gems per person from the X event by showcasing their best skill combinations, explaining how they work, and putting a couple of screenshots to show them off in style while using official hashtags listed in the announcement. Posts with more likes, retweets, and views could have a better chance of winning. This event runs from September 13th to October 3rd.
As for the Discord events, one of them has an undefined date at the time of writing, but revolves around getting free daily coupons. The duration of this event should be updated soon (by September 13th according to the official post), but essentially, the developers will share coupon codes for 5 days a row in the game’s official Discord server. You won’t know at what time these codes will appear, nor in which chat they could pop up; that’s all random. There could even be fake codes showing up alongside the real ones. If you manage to successfully find the code in Discord, you can redeem it in-game to earn 5000 Gems. A coupon can be used once per account, and if left unused will expire on October 31st.
Last but not least is the “Immortals Assemble” Discord event, which runs from September 13th to October 3rd. This is a guild-based event where you simply have to promote your guild in the Discord server. Your guild name should be included in your Discord ID, and the instructions also encourage your guild members to make "comments, cheers, and stories about your guild on your dedicated page.” A total of 50 Guilds will be rewarded with a 22,000 Gems coupon that can be used up to 50 times, with the rewards to be distributed using the in-game mail.
Immortal Rising 2 is an idle action RPG made by Bad Beans, in collaboration with Planetarium Labs, the creators of decentralized idle RPG, Nine Chronicles. It’s the sequel to Immortal Rising, a web2 idle RPG that got over 2 million downloads while generating $12 million in revenue in its first year, topping the genre’s charts in South Korea.
Set in a dark fantasy 3D world, players get to enjoy stylish real-time combat while facing various bosses and clearing dungeons to earn special items. Players can create their unique combat style thanks to a massive skill tree through which millions of build combinations can be made, enabling in-depth web3 gaming.
Following this global launch, the next milestone on the game’s roadmap is the TGE of the $IMT governance token, planned to take place at some point in Q4 2024. Holders of this token will get to vote on various decisions that affect the game’s design while earning rewards from on-chain staking and trading. It will be possible to exchange it to Starlight, an earnable currency awarded to stakers and to players based on ranking that is needed for making decisions on in-game rules and policies while also being used to craft Mercenary NFTs/Territory NFTs. Starlight can be exchanged back to $IMT, but it also be converted into Stardust, a non-exchangeable currency used for exclusive premium shops and for crafting U-Grade items.
In Q1 2025, the game’s DAO is set to be established to introduce in-game governance alongside the release of an “Item NFT”. This will be followed by the launch of the Mercenary NFT and Guild War Tournaments in Q2 next year, while the marketplace will go live in Q3 2025. All of these timeframes however are still subject to change.
