Illuvium: Overworld, the highly-anticipated open-world monster collecting game, is set to officially launch in Public Open Beta in Q2 2024, with exclusive preview footage of hunting gameplay now live ahead of release.
One of the key features that will be a part of the Open Beta version of Overworld is Illuvial hunting. A Ahead of launch, the studio has published a preview showcasing in-game footage of a prototype focused on this feature, giving us an early glimpse of some of the gameplay we can expect to experience once the beta goes live.
According to Illuvium co-founder Kieran Warwick’s announcement in the official Discord server, the showcased prototype continues to be polished, and states that the team is completely dedicated to improving this important feature of the open-world, “aiming for the highest quality experience as we approach the Open Beta—without any setbacks.”
Warwick also promises that work on Overworld won’t just stop after launch, but that they will continue to improve and add more content post-launch, “including an array of new features.” You can check out the beautiful prototype in the video below, featuring around 3 minutes of third-person gameplay in which we get to see fluid movement and an early look at what it’s like to hunt down different types of Illuvials before you are taken to the Arena, the auto battler component of the Illuvium universe, to successfully capture your new Illuvial. Speaking of Illuvium: Arena, Patch 0.3.4 for Beta 3 was recently deployed, adding in new features such as Augment Limitation and an advanced filtering system.
