The DAO for the well-known Illuvium gaming ecosystem has published a newsletter for February 2024, revealing various governance updates for the past month.
For the last month, the Main Council discussed smurf accounts, the landowner revenue share IIP (Illuvium Improvement Proposal), Beyond reward structure IIP, as well as marketing plans and features needed for the upcoming Open Beta of Illuvium: Overworld. The announcement also states that the Main Council is looking forward to finalizing capital raise so as to help give Illuvium “further cushioning.”
The Community Council also talked about smurf accounts while discussing about the Fuel Crate Airdrop, Open Beta progress update, the free-to-play version of Illuvium: Zero, and improvements to Arena Leaderboard rewards.
During February, two proposals were voted on, one of which passed, while the other ended up being declined. Specifically, the landowner revenue share proposal, IIP-45-R, passed thanks to five votes giving it a thumbs up. What this proposal does is that it focuses on giving landholders a 5% share of Illuvium in-game revenue, regardless of whether it is made from the use of fuel or not. This accepted proposal represents a revised version which accurately determines the revenue share, now encompassing all digital product sales within the ecosystem. Specific details on the reward distribution mechanism have also been included so as to provide landowners with clarity on what happens when fuel is not used to generate revenue or when fuel has not yet been produced.
The other proposal that’s been declined with 4 votes against is the IIP-46 proposal focused on the reward structure for Illuvium Beyond. For this proposal, the goal was to make Beyond more accessible to newcomers by introducing 2 separate leaderboards: one for individual waves and the other for individual sets, allowing players to pick which leaderboard they’d like to part in. The proposal would have also led to the increase of leaderboard rewards and spots, but the Main Council ended up declining this proposal “due to lack of clarity and actionable items.” Despite the rejection, the Main Council "acknowledged the merit of this proposal” and as such will potentially integrate it into the Illuvium Beyond Wave 3 IIP that is coming soon.
Aside from these two proposals, there are no other ongoing proposals to vote on, as many are currently in the works, particularly for Illuvium Beyond.
