HYTOPIA has launched its Creator Fund, a new program that will offer up to $125,000 in milestone-based grants to support studios building on its blockchain gaming platform. From now on, HYTOPIA is opening applications for teams looking to build the first flagship games on its ecosystem. Selected teams will also get direct engineering help, marketing support, and a favorable revenue share deal while keeping full ownership of their creations.

This fund targets experienced developers who want to push boundaries on a next-gen platform that combines ease of use with full web3 integration.

HYTOPIA Creator Fund

HYTOPIA Creator Fund: Up to $25K per Studio with No Equity Taken

Each selected team can receive up to $25,000, split across five milestones. These include payments at the stages of concept sign-off, closed beta, open beta, public launch, and final project delivery. The grants are non-dilutive, meaning studios do not have to give up equity or intellectual property.

Other than funding, HYTOPIA will offer direct access to its engineering team via a private Slack group, allowing faster help and issue solving during the build process.

Custom Support, Launch Help, and 75/25 Revenue Split

Studios accepted into the Creator Fund will also receive marketing help through HYTOPIA's go-to-market (GTM) team. The team will assist with launch visibility, platform placement, and social media pushes to help builders grow their player base.

All studios in the program will get access to a 75/25 revenue share on sales, meaning 75% of revenue goes directly to the dev team. This includes both primary and secondary sales, and developers keep 100% of their IP.

Who Can Apply?

The HYTOPIA Creator Fund is looking for teams with proven results. To be eligible, studios must have launched at least one game with over 10 million plays on Roblox or more than 100,000 downloads on mobile. The team should include at least one 3D modeler, one animator, and a developer experienced in Javascript or Typescript.

Each project must have at least one experienced developer working in TypeScript or JavaScript, though developers new to TypeScript are still allowed to apply.

A 3-Month Push for Innovation

The Creator Fund will focus on a short 3-month period where HYTOPIA will work with 5 to 10 teams to build flagship experiences. The goal is to show the power of what's possible on HYTOPIA's platform and help shape the early ecosystem through innovative content.

The platform expects each game to launch within 12 weeks, though extensions can be requested in case of delays. If a team misses two milestone deadlines, they may lose access to further grant payments.

Build Faster with HYTOPIA's No-Code Tools and SDK

HYTOPIA offers powerful tools that aim to lower the barriers for both beginner and experienced developers. It supports cross-platform building and includes a no-code editor, 3D creation tools, and a developer kit (SDK) for more advanced workflows.

Games built on HYTOPIA can go live instantly and can be shared via links. The platform supports AI-powered tools, real-time camera effects, and systems for building quests and monetizing player interaction.

Everything is hosted directly by HYTOPIA, with APIs and backend systems included out of the box. This makes it easier to focus on content without worrying about infrastructure.

Share the Dev Journey and Build in Public

As part of the Creator Fund, HYTOPIA encourages selected studios to build in public. That includes publishing regular dev logs, holding alpha tests with the community, and sharing progress on social platforms.

This approach not only drives excitement but also helps studios gather real-time feedback before launch. It's also part of HYTOPIA's wider strategy to grow a creator-focused community.

Apply Now

Applications are now open at https://creatorfund.hytopia.com. Studios that meet the criteria will be contacted within 48 to 72 hours for the next steps.

Each selected team will need to pass a one-time KYC before receiving their first grant payment.

HY Foundation and migration to Base

HY Foundation and HYBUX Token Migration to Base

Alongside the Creator Fund launch, HYTOPIA recently announced a major platform update. The team has introduced the HY Foundation, a new legal entity in the Cayman Islands that will manage its ecosystem and lead the upcoming migration from its current chain, Hychain, to Coinbase's Layer-2 network Base.

As part of the transition, HYTOPIA will retire its existing $TOPIA token and introduce $HYBUX as the new main token across staking, the marketplace, and gameplay.

A 1:2 airdrop will be offered to all $TOPIA holders. Each 1 $TOPIA will convert into 2 $HYBUX. But users must first remove liquidity from staking pools and store tokens in personal wallets to qualify. Rewards will only go to individual wallets, not pools.

The LP pool will also migrate to Base, and users will need to follow new steps for staking under the revised system.

Why Base Was Chosen

HYTOPIA picked Base due to its lower gas fees, better infrastructure, and large locked asset base. At the time of the announcement, Base had over $4 billion in locked value. Moving to Base is also set to simplify listings of $HYBUX on crypto exchanges, while speeding up in-game transactions and lowering costs for players.

The change also allows HYTOPIA to offer better tools and support for developers. Base's compatibility with Ethereum and its growing user base were key reasons for the move.

Details of the $HYBUX Launch

$HYBUX will launch with a total supply of 10 billion tokens on Base. The HY Foundation will oversee the supply and its use across all features in the ecosystem.

New rules for staking will also be introduced. Rewards will no longer expire, and marketplace fees will help fund staking pools. NFTs will get more utility, and Guardian Nodes will receive upgraded token incentives.

The team has also shared more info about the token snapshot, airdrop process, and how the migration will work. You can find the full details here

HYTOPIA was created by the original team behind NFT Worlds

Hytopia's Background and Web3 Focus

HYTOPIA was created by the original team behind NFT Worlds, following Minecraft's 2022 ban on NFTs. The team built HYTOPIA as a new platform for user-made content, blockchain support, and creator-first tools.

Today, HYTOPIA is available on web, desktop, and mobile. Its Alpha version includes small games like fishing sims, battle arenas, and short RPGs. All games can be built using the SDK or the no-code tool, then shared and monetized.

The SDK supports world building, camera tools, quest logic, and AI integrations. Developers can build games that feel like modded Minecraft worlds but run as full web3 experiences.

Token and Chain History

HYTOPIA has moved blockchains several times to optimize performance. It began on Polygon, then moved to Arbitrum, and later launched its own chain called Hychain. Each move helped improve speed, costs, and developer tools.

The upcoming migration to Base is expected to be the final shift, offering the best mix of support, cost savings, and growth opportunities.

For developers looking to build the next breakout web3 game, the HYTOPIA Creator Fund is now open and accepting applications.
