How to Play Nine Chronicles M: A Beginner's Guide to the Mobile RPG

Made by Planetarium Labs, Nine Chronicles is an open-sourced MMORPG without servers. Set in a fantasy world, it is governed by players, and supported by a complex virtual economy. 

To expand its reach, the team has launched a mobile version of the game (Nine Chronicles M) on Google Play and App Stores. This mobile title features all the adventures and strategy elements in the original PC game. Players can earn NFTs as well as $NCG rewards, which can be converted to the on-chain $WNCG. 

How to Get Started in Nine Chronicles M?

The gameplay mechanics in Nine Chronicles M are pretty much the same as in the PC version. Here's how to get started: 

1. Visit Nine Chronicles and download the game, which is available for Android/iOS (Nine Chronicles M) and Windows/MAC (Nine Chronicles PC). 
2. Choose Heimdall planet, then create an account and a character. After that, undergo a simple tutorial to begin your adventure.
3. Once you're in the game, engage in Campaigns, the core element of Nine Chronicles and the foundation of the in-game economy.
4. As you play, you'll be requested to create a Nine Chronicles Portal account with your social accounts (Discord/Google/X/Apple ID). Make sure you connect your Nine Chronicles M address to the portal to earn crypto rewards in $NCG. 
5. Once done, proceed to play the game and receive $NCG tokens by completing tasks: 

How to Create a New Character? 

1. Each account can create up to 3 characters. Click the "NEW CHARACTER" button to get started. 

2. Customize your character by selecting their hair, eyes, ears, and tail types. Once done, click the "CREATE" button.

Character's Stats:

• HP (Hit Points): This is the character's health; reaching 0 results in a loss in battle.
• ATK (Attack Power): This shows the damage your character can inflict on enemies.
• DEF (Defense Power): This is the character's ability to withstand damage from enemies.
• CRI (Critical Hit Rate): This reflects the percentage chance of landing critical attacks.
• HIT: A higher hit point means a higher chance of successful attacks.
• SPD (Speed): This determines the character's speed, allowing for more actions compared to enemies.

3. Finally, select a nickname for your character. Once you're done, click the "OK" button.

4. Voila! Your character is now created, and you're ready to explore the world of Nine Chronicles. 

Start your first adventure

Entrance

• Upon your first entry, Alex will guide you to the dungeons portal (PvE).

Stage Entry

• Activating this portal grants access to Stage 1. 
  

Stage Completion Rewards

• Upon clearing the stage, you will earn XP and materials to progress further. 

Forest Exploration

• After that, the cat warrior will guide you deeper into the forest.

Workshop Introduction

• Upon the completion of Stage 3, Alex will direct you to the workshop for equipment crafting. 

Craft Your First Gear

• Successfully clearing stages will grant you equipment recipes. You can unlock these recipes to craft more powerful weapons and gear.

Crafting Consumables

• Gather various materials from the Nine Worlds to create potent food consumables. These items work for a single stage and deliver powerful effects.

Upgrade System

• Enhance existing equipment by combining them with items of the same grade and level. At certain grade levels (+4, +7, +10, +13..), the items will require an amount of $NCG to be upgraded. 
• The upgrade process involves consuming one piece of equipment of the same level and rank. Successful upgrades result in an increase in equipment level and a stat boost of 8-12%.
• In case of a failure, the upgrade materials will be destroyed while the item being upgraded remains intact. 

Arena – PvP

The Arena is the PvP game mode in Nine Chronicles M. Players can challenge each other to climb the leaderboard and earn rewards. 

While fighting in the arena, players earn consumables that can be used in the Campaign to increase their Combat Power (CP), further increasing their chances of winning. Each Challenge requires one entry ticket. The leaderboard resets every 40 arena rounds (112,000 blocks)​. This game mode offers competitive seasons on a regular basis, during which you can compete for $NCG rewards and NFTs. 

Staking: Monster Collection

The Monster Collection is the first staking mechanism in Nine Chronicles. Players can lock their $NCG for one month and earn Hourglasses and AP potions every week. Unlike the Energy System in other games, players in Nine Chronicles can generate AP Potions, which are used for progressing through battles. 

About Nine Chronicles Gold ($NCG)

Nine Chronicles Gold ($NCG) is the main currency in Nine Chronicles. Players can spend $NCG to craft powerful items, trade with other users, and challenge other players. While $NCGs are not required in earlier stages, the game is designed such that the token is gradually required as players become more powerful. 

How to Earn $NCG? 

As mentioned earlier, you can earn $NCG in the game by completing various tasks on the Nine Chronicles Portal. You can also buy Wrapped NCG ($WNCG) from the crypto exchanges below and transfer them into Nine Chronicles through the Portal. 

• Decentralized Exchange (DEX): Balancer and SushiSwap. 
• Centralized Exchange (CEX): OKX, Gate.io, Kucoin, MEXC

What is Wrapped NCG? 

$WNCG is a 1:1 $NCG-backed ERC-20 token. It is available on the Ethereum blockchain, allowing $NCG to be publicly traded. 

Conversion between $NCG and $WNCG

If you have $WNCG in your Ethereum wallet, you can swap it for $NCG on the Nine Chronicles Portal. Look for the tab "WNCG to NCG," swap your tokens for $NCG, and send them to your Nine Chronicles account.

You can also convert $NCG to $WNCG via the "Send NCG" tab on the Nine Chronicles PC Launcher. The daily conversion limit is 5,000 $NCG, and the minimum transfer amount is 100 $NCG. 

To pay the gas fee, the bridge will deduct 10 $NCG for each transfer with less than 1,000 $NCG. A 1% base fee will be deducted between 1,000 $NCG and 10,000 $NCG, with a 2% surcharge fee for an amount over 10,000 $NCG. 

De:Centralized Cat NFTs 

In September 2022, Nine Chronicles launched the De:Centralized Cat (DCC) NFTs. These were fully integrated into the game by March 2023. Aside from serving as Profile Picture (PFP) assets, these NFTs represent player identity in the game and offer rewards such as in-game perks and voting power.

DCC NFTs can be acquired from platforms such as OpenSea, LooksRare, X2Y2, and the Blur marketplace. As of writing, the collection's floor price is 0.073 ETH ($238).
